Anne Hathaway was born in Oxford in 1933, to a family of seven children, mother and father. She was educated at Oxford Central Girls' School after passing the Eleven Plus exam. Anne married Sidney Ward-Barber in Oxford on 17th March 1951. They have two sons and one daughter.
