IT Support Administrator:

Personality:

- System Support and Maintenance - Linux / Windows XP / Windows 7
- Hardware audit and register
- Email infrastructure
- Some knowledge of Sage Accounts Package (Advantageous but not essential)

Duties Will Include:

- System Maintenance and audit
- Ensuring Policy Compliance
- Server Monitoring
- Maintaining a hardware register and equipment acquisition
- Backups
- Infrastructure review
- Ad hoc support

World of Books require an IT Support Administrator to formalise our I.T. Infrastructure and provide front line support at our H.Q. in Goring by Sea and remote support to our distribution hubs. The role would suit a dynamic and self motivated individual that is willing to learn and develop their skills. Some experience is preferred but not essential.

Salary: Dependent on experience

Rare Books Supervisor:

We require a Supervisor to join our team at World of Rare Books. World of Rare Books was established in 2008 and sells rare used books specialising in older more collectable titles than its parent company World of Books. We sell to a wide range of customers worldwide with an inventory of over 30,000 titles we hope there will be something to suit everyone .You will be responsible for the day to day running of the team, managing approximately 8 people. As well as leading and motivating your team to deliver the required results on time, you will be responsible for monitoring cost and maintaining the working environment and ensuring all HS is complied with. You will have a proven track record of delivering results along with experience of managing and motivating large teams. You must be able to demonstrate experience of practical problem solving. Exceeds NMW.

Evening Shift Stock Processing:

Our Stock Processing team is responsible for scanning all the books that get delivered to our Goring-by-Seasite daily. Working in pairs, the books are sorted from containers and then scanned to see whether the bookshould be placed in stock or be recycled.Each pair has a target number of books to scan an hour to ensure that we can get as many new books aspossible into stock every day. The position would ideally suit people seeking employment that meets National Minimum Wage with opportunities for training and qualifications. Hours are 5-9pm Monday to Friday, working in our Warehouse in Goring-by-Sea.

How we chose our team: 

All applications are reviewed by the recruiting manager and some applications are taken to the next stage when you’ll be invited for an face to face interview.

We like to interview people so that we can get to know you a bit better and learn how you like to work.  As part of the interview process we’ll give you a tour of the warehouse so you can see the environment that you’ll be actually be working in and get to meet some of team.

Our interview questions aren’t meant to catch you out; we just want to get to know you, your career history and how you naturally think.  We may ask you to carry out some exercises as part of your interview.

For some roles we do carry out unpaid work trials as part of the recruitment process which involves you spending a day in your chosen role working with the team.
