It chronicles the work of architectural firms Kieran Timberlake, Kohn Pederson Fox (KPF), HKS, Payette, Pelli Clarke Pelli, SHoP Architects, Skidmore Owings and Merrill (SOM), Studios Architecture and two academic teams from Alfred University and the University at Buffalo. The book presents a unique model for exploring the state of the art in terra cotta design through the production of experimental prototypes. These include rain screen facade systems, urban sound devices, structures, massive wall systems and furniture. Now in its fifth year, this invitation-only workshop has teams collaborate with the manufacturer to develop a design that engages bioclimatic concerns and pushes material and manufacturing possibilities.","brand":"WoB","offers":[{"title":"GB \/ NEW \/ GARDNERS","offer_id":49739543904529,"sku":"NGR9781951541224","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":false},{"title":"US \/ VERY_GOOD \/ SBYB","offer_id":50396111569169,"sku":"CIN1951541227VG","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":false},{"title":"US \/ NEW \/ INGRAM","offer_id":51057003757841,"sku":"NIN9781951541224","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":false},{"title":"GB \/ NEW \/ INGRAM","offer_id":52341666840849,"sku":"NLS9781951541224","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":true},{"title":"US \/ GOOD \/ SBYB","offer_id":53262891385105,"sku":"CIN1951541227G","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0784\/4072\/6801\/files\/1951541227.jpg?v=1751348114"},{"product_id":"architectural-ceramic-assemblies-workshop-bioclimatic-ceramic-assemblies-ii-book-omar-khan-9781532376382","title":"Architectural Ceramic Assemblies Workshop: Bioclimatic Ceramic Assemblies II","description":"ACAW: Bioclimatic Ceramic Assemblies II chronicles the research and prototypes developed by four teams for the second Architectural Ceramic Assemblies Workshop in 2017. A collaboration between Boston Valley Terra Cotta, the preeminent terracotta manufacturer in the United States and the School of Architecture and Planning at the University at Buffalo (SUNY), the workshop's aim is to explore the bioclimatic potential of terracotta in contemporary architecture. Projects by AECOM\/Alfred University, Morphosis, University at Buffalo\/Alfred University and Walter P Moore, explore the structural and environmental potential of the material and the opportunities for new expression and building performance this can bring to architecture. The teams are composed of practicing architects, engineers and ceramic artists. Team AECOM\/Alfred University developed a counter current heat exchanger as a façade system, while Team Morphosis explored the formal and fabrication potential of extruded rainscreens. The University at Buffalo\/Alfred University explored the performative potential of ornamental systems while Team Walter P Moore developed a post tensioned ceramic screen. A conversation with material scientist Krishna Rajan concludes the volume.","brand":"WoB","offers":[{"title":"US \/ GOOD \/ SBYB","offer_id":50379822432529,"sku":"CIN1532376383G","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":true},{"title":"US \/ VERY_GOOD \/ SBYB","offer_id":50387740131601,"sku":"CIN1532376383VG","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":false},{"title":"US \/ NEW \/ INGRAM","offer_id":51034787578129,"sku":"NIN9781532376382","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":false}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0784\/4072\/6801\/files\/1532376383.jpg?v=1751087541"},{"product_id":"architectural-ceramic-assemblies-workshop-bioclimatic-ceramic-assemblies-iii-book-omar-khan-9780578533094","title":"Architectural Ceramic Assemblies Workshop: Bioclimatic Ceramic Assemblies III","description":"ACAW: Bioclimatic Ceramic Assemblies II chronicles the research and prototypes developed by six teams for the second Architectural Ceramic Assemblies Workshop in 2018.
