Addressing how the use of digital tools and literacy practices can be woven into current ELA curricula, and with consistent sections, each chapter covers a different aspect of digital tool use, including multimodal texts, critical media literacies, connection-building, and digital composing. Understanding that no classroom is a monolith, Barnes and Marlatt’s timely text presents practical applications and resources suitable for different environments, including urban and rural contexts. The volume is essential reading in courses on ELA\/literacy methods and multicultural education.","brand":"WoB","offers":[{"title":"GB \/ NEW \/ GARDNERS","offer_id":50698902372625,"sku":"NGR9781032548425","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":false},{"title":"US \/ NEW \/ INGRAM","offer_id":51018207756561,"sku":"NIN9781032548425","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":false},{"title":"GB \/ NEW \/ INGRAM","offer_id":52597210710289,"sku":"NLS9781032548425","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0784\/4072\/6801\/files\/1032548428.jpg?v=1750751682"},{"product_id":"teaching-for-equity-justice-and-antiracism-with-digital-literacy-practices-book-meghan-e-barnes-9781032553399","title":"Teaching for Equity, Justice, and Antiracism with Digital Literacy Practices","description":"To embrace today’s culturally and linguistically diverse secondary English Language Arts (ELA) classrooms, this text presents ways in which teachers can use digital tools in the service of antiracist teaching and developing equity-oriented mindsets in teaching and learning. Over the course of one academic year, three ELA teacher educators at a large public university in the southeastern US guided a cohort of novice ELA teachers in monthly virtual conversations relative to the challenges facing public school teachers today. Prior to these monthly meetings, participants engaged with a text (book chapter, journal article, and podcast) related to the teaching of English in middle and secondary schools post‑Covid. Throughout the year, participants challenged and supported one another on social, political, and curricular issues. This book invites readers into the context for CEEC and shares the experiences of ELA teachers engaging in critical pedagogy, while offering pathways for those interested in developing this kind of collaborative community. Because CEEC operates in a liminal space, it is a transformational place where participants can be vulnerable and feel safe to share their concerns, experiences, and successes without fear of retribution from school administrators, parents, or faculty. Thus, CEEC functions as a powerful space for prospective and practicing teachers to learn from and with one another and offers insight into how this unique collaborative relationship fosters collective growth. This book gives prospective teachers, practicing teachers, and teacher educators in English language arts education the tools to engage in the process of becoming critical educators.","brand":"WoB","offers":[{"title":"GB \/ NEW \/ GARDNERS","offer_id":52658328404241,"sku":"NGR9781041151814","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":true},{"title":"GB \/ NEW \/ INGRAM","offer_id":53360394141969,"sku":"NLS9781041151814","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0784\/4072\/6801\/files\/9781041151814.jpg?v=1772792477"},{"product_id":"fostering-critical-pedagogy-in-the-ela-classroom-book-meghan-e-barnes-9781041151807","title":"Fostering Critical Pedagogy in the ELA Classroom","description":"This book presents the story of the Critical English Educator Collaborative (CEEC)—a teacher‑guided, informal learning community focused on supporting prospective and practicing English language arts (ELA) teachers’ understandings of critical pedagogy—in order to demonstrate and foster critical pedagogy among ELA teachers.
