The evidence is everywhere in his writings as well as in conversations his second wife recorded in her diaries. In his infamous essay "Judaism in Music," Wagner forever cemented his unpleasant reputation with his assertion that Jews were incapable of either creating or appreciating great art. Wagner's close ties with many talented Jews, then, are surprising. Most writers have dismissed these connections as cynical manipulations and rank hypocrisy. Examination of the original sources, however, reveals something different: unmistakeable, undeniable empathy and friendship between Wagner and the Jews in his life. Indeed, the composer had warm relationships with numerous individual Jews. Two of them resided frequently over extended periods in his home. One of these, the rabbi's son Hermann Levi, conducted Wagner's final opera--Parsifal, based on Christian legend--at Wagner's request; no one, Wagner declared, understood his work so well. Even in death his Jewish friends were by his side; two were among his twelve pallbearers. The contradictions between Wagner's antipathy toward the amorphous entity "The Jews" and his genuine friendships with individual Jews are the subject of this book. Drawing on extensive sources in both German and English, including Wagner's autobiography and diary and the diaries of his second wife, this comprehensive treatment of Wagner's anti-Semitism is the first to place it in perspective with his life and work. Included in the text are portions of unpublished letters exchanged between Wagner and Hermann Levi. Altogether, the book reveals astonishing complexities in a man long known as much for his prejudice as for his epic contributions to opera.

These two books deal, on the one hand with the strange, but the well-documented appearance of young children, some no more than infants just beginning to speak, who have amazing, and sometimes annoyed their parents and others, by speaking about other times and places in varying degrees of detail. The books deal on the other hand with many facts about atoms, the tiny particles, which are the structural basis for all of the apparently solid objects we see every day all around us. Though those two subjects seem literally worlds apart and having nothing to do with each other, our two volumes show in great detail the possibility that they have everything to do with each other.

There are many things about these tiny objects, though not well known by the general public. The potential significance of such inherent traits is unfortunately not grasped by many scientists. The inherent facts about them can tell us much about our subject.

One is their longevity Almost all of them in existence today, and there are many trillions of them, have been around since the dawn of creation, the big bang that gave birth to the universe, said by scientists to have occurred about eleven billion years ago. Even more startling may be the fact that their projected life span is estimated to be many times the projected life of the universe. Scientists have also been confounded by the fact that a particle, such as a single atom, might seemingly disappear, but appear elsewhere a moment later without ever having traversed the intervening, or any other, space.

For all practical purposes, atoms are forever. They have been found through a process called 'entanglement' to form very strong bonds with each other. Atoms differ from each other only in the number of subatomic particles each has. He delves into an analysis of much current scientific evidence that appears to add credence to claims of early hybridization of the human race. It is an entirely new and novel approach, but a very readable and one. It is a challenge to readers to think constructively of the new and novel. It revolves around the coalescence beginning about fifty thousand years ago of several significant and scientifically proven occurrences. One is the beginning of the pale skin tone of Europeans. Brener systematically dismantles the accepted scientific explanation for it and drives home the fact that the only other living creatures with similar skin tone are the extraterrestrials, often known to many witnesses of high credibility as Nordics. Unlike other ETs, these Nordics look like us, though some are said to be remarkably tall and, also unlike others, leave the contactees with very positive feelings. Another major occurrence, the great transition, was the relatively sudden appearance of modern behavior, including artistic genius, timekeeping, and creation of musical instruments. The book is truly a tour de force.
The goal of the aliens among us is not the study of Earth for purely academic purposes. It is something more vital to the aliens and more portentous for us. The picture that emerges from much research makes sense of several aspects of the alien presence, previously quite puzzling. They apparently are a dying race inhabiting a dying planet. They have undoubtedly mastered physical forces and phenomena of which we have not even dreamed. But it has come at a terrible cost. Their emotional life has been all but lost, existing only as a faint remnant from a long distant past. They may pity our hopelessly primitive technology, but they envy us our robust emotional life. Like all living things everywhere they live for the perpetuation of their genes. They do not hate us, nor do they seek our destruction. They seek to create a race of hybrids, combining their scientifically superior minds with our rich emotional makeup. The ridicule of the entire subject by the government and other forces, fearful of upheaval in our society, has aggravated the suffering of those chosen and victimized by the aliens, who apparently seek, ineptly sometimes, to minimize it.
The author combines this scholarly approach with an almost folksy narrative style to make Walking Through Walls a very readable and approachable treatise on the phenomena. as good as any book on the subject and far more skillfully written than most, including those Brener has referenced most frequently, Bud Hopkins' Intruders and Philip Corso's The Day after Roswell.
-Blue Ink Review

This book traces the history of three dimensional perspective in art from prehistoric and ancient times, during which the portrayal of depth was practically nonexistent, through its early development by the Greeks and Romans; its virtual disappearance in the Middle Ages; and its re-emergence and perfection in the Renaissance. The book also examines the role of the right cerebral hemisphere in appreciation of aesthetics and particularly of three dimensional art. It further points to similar human attributes that have risen and declined in tandem with the use of perspective, and which are also mediated by the right hemisphere: expressiveness of the human face, use of metaphor, love of the grand panoramas of nature, and the sense of self. The book considers not only the role of three-dimensional art in the rise of landscape painting, but also its contribution to the admiration and investigation of nature and the rise of the scientific age.
This book applies new scientific research in the fields of biology and genetics to an empirical study of the Greco-Roman civilizations and the European Renaissance. These two periods were remarkable in part because of the dominance of empathy and humanism in the philosophical thought of each era. Both periods were preceded by the influx of many populations and genetic lines, a circumstance this book treats as not coincidental but probably causative. The author cites the expression of new genetic combinations in these periods as evidence that genetic evolution can play a large part in the development of new philosophical concepts, as manifested in these two periods. The author explains that humanistic traits seem to rise and fall in lockstep throughout human history, directly or indirectly correlating with changing genetic underpinnings.
