This was certainly true of Jenner and Nance. This is as true for matters of orthography and phonology as it is for the lexicon. In this book certain aspects of the Cornish consonantal system are examined, using as evidence only what is found in the surviving texts. A time where it seems that most are confused, and think that his\/her mistakes in life has counted them out, and because some in churches today are doing a good job at masking flaws and not willing to share, so that those who are struggling in faith can benefit, leaves that struggling christian brother or sister to feel like they are an isle to themselves, and that is not what Jesus prayed before going to the cross. He prayed that we would all be one just as he and his Father are one. This book seeks to address that God is still God though we may fall at times in our Christian journey. The book seeks to point to the bible for examples in simplifying our Christian journey. There are some personal testimonies within the book for those that may need to know they are not alone. Salvation only by faith in Jesus Christ and faith alone is the basis for how to live a life h.e.l.p.fully. This book is not about religious talk, but about spiritual growth in Jesus Christ as Savior and sometime that growth comes with some failures to show us where we are in him versus where we think we are in him. Failure should not be looked at a sign of illegitimacy as adopted children in him, but should serve as a mirror to grow and actually grow. They include I-affection in Breton and Cornish (2007), The Cornish englyn (2007), The preterite in Cornish (2010), Some Cornish plurals (2011), Adjectival and adverbial prefixes in Cornish (2013), 'If' in Cornish (2014), Reflexive verbs in Cornish (2014), and Auxiliary verbs in Cornish (2016). These are presented in eight chapters; seven deal with various aspects of the historical phonology, morphology and syntax of traditional Cornish. One article examines the Cornish form of the englyn, a three-lined stanza common to both Cornish and Welsh. The first five of the chapters originally appeared as articles in Cornish Studies. Two further chapters were first given as short papers at the Skians conferences of 2014 and 2015 respectively. The last chapter of the book discusses the auxiliary verbs of traditional Cornish and has not been published hitherto. Because the sections below were written at different times and for varying purposes, there is a certain degree of overlap in their subject-matter. Cornish lacks native speakers, thus revivalists have no one whose pronunciation or idiom can serve as a model for their own speech. It is therefore of vital importance that we who attempt to use revived Cornish should be as familiar as is possible with the traditional language as it survives in the Middle and Late Cornish texts. Indeed reading those texts carefully can be both most instructive. Studies in Traditional Cornish is a companion volume to four other works on similar topics: Cornish Today, Towards Authentic Cornish, Writings on Revived Cornish, and Form and Content in Revived Cornish.","brand":"WoB","offers":[{"title":"US \/ NEW \/ INGRAM","offer_id":51050568286481,"sku":"NIN9781782010388","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":true},{"title":"GB \/ NEW \/ INGRAM","offer_id":52650482696465,"sku":"NLS9781782010388","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0784\/4072\/6801\/files\/1782010386.jpg?v=1751216504"},{"product_id":"testament-nowyth-book-nicholas-williams-9781782012849","title":"An Testament Nowyth","description":null,"brand":"WoB","offers":[{"title":"- \/ - \/ -","offer_id":51050810343697,"sku":"","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":true},{"title":"US \/ NEW \/ INGRAM","offer_id":51050814734609,"sku":"NIN9781782012849","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":false},{"title":"GB \/ NEW \/ INGRAM","offer_id":52337556914449,"sku":"NLS9781782012849","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0784\/4072\/6801\/files\/1782012842.jpg?v=1751184320"},{"product_id":"geryow-gwir-book-nicholas-williams-9781782010685","title":"Geryow Gwir","description":"If one compares the vocabulary laid out in the handbooks of revived Cornish with the lexicon of the traditional texts, one is struck by how different are the two. From the beginnings Unified Cornish in the 1920s it appears that revivalists have tended to avoid words borrowed from English, replacing them with more Celtic' etyma. Indeed the more Celtic appearance the vocabulary of both Welsh and Breton seens to have been a source of envy to some Cornish revivalists. From Nance onwards such purists have believed that English borrowings disfigured Cornish and in some sense did not belong in the language. They considered that revived Cornish would be more authentic, if as many borrowings as possible were replaced by native or Celtic words. Such a perception is perhaps understandable in the context of the Cornish language as a badge of ethnic identity. From a historical and linguistic perspective, however, it is misplaced. Cornish, unlike its sister languages, has always adopted words from English. Indeed it is these English borrowings which give the mature language of the Middle Cornish period its distinctive flavour. Cornish without the English element is quite simply not Cornish. Since there is no sizeable community speaking revived Cornish as a native language, we are compelled to rely on the only native speakers available to us, namely the writers of the traditional texts. We must follow them as closely as we can. It is to be hoped that this book will in some small measure assist learners of Cornish to speak and to write a form of the language more closely related to what remains to us of the traditional language.","brand":"WoB","offers":[{"title":"- \/ - \/ -","offer_id":51051182194961,"sku":"","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":true},{"title":"US \/ NEW \/ INGRAM","offer_id":51051185701137,"sku":"NIN9781782010685","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":true},{"title":"GB \/ NEW \/ INGRAM","offer_id":52665356976401,"sku":"NLS9781782010685","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0784\/4072\/6801\/files\/1782010688.jpg?v=1751345085"},{"product_id":"charter-fragment-and-pascon-agan-arluth-book-nicholas-williams-9781782011828","title":"The Charter Fragment and Pascon agan Arluth","description":null,"brand":"WoB","offers":[{"title":"- \/ - \/ -","offer_id":51051234590993,"sku":"","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":true},{"title":"US \/ NEW \/ INGRAM","offer_id":51051237376273,"sku":"NIN9781782011828","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":true},{"title":"GB \/ NEW \/ INGRAM","offer_id":52585639641361,"sku":"NLS9781782011828","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0784\/4072\/6801\/files\/178201182X.jpg?v=1751247994"},{"product_id":"storchiste-teasaras-aibitreach-na-gaeilge-book-nicholas-williams-9781782013129","title":"Storchiste - Teasaras Aibitreach na Gaeilge","description":"The rise and fall of a tax shelter industry that enabled some of America's richest citizens to avoid paying their fair share of taxes. For ten boom-powered years at the turn of the twenty-first century, some of America's most prominent law and accounting firms created and marketed products that enabled the very rich--including newly minted dot-com millionaires--to avoid paying their fair share of taxes by claiming benefits not recognized by law. These abusive domestic tax shelters bore such exotic names as BOS, BLIPS, and COBRA and were developed by such prestigious firms as KPMG and Ernst \u0026amp; Young. They brought in hundreds of millions of dollars in fees from clients and bilked the U.S. Treasury of billions in revenues before the IRS and Justice Department stepped in with civil penalties and criminal prosecutions. In Confidence Games, Tanina Rostain and Milton Regan describe the rise and fall of the tax shelter industry during this period, offering a riveting account of the most serious episode of professional misconduct in the history of the American bar.Rostain and Regan describe a beleaguered IRS preoccupied by attacks from antitax and antigovernment politicians; heightened competition for professional services; the relaxation of tax practitioner norms against aggressive advice; and the creation of complex financial instruments that made abusive shelters harder to detect. By 2004, the tax shelter boom was over, leaving failed firms, disgraced professionals, and prison sentences in its wake. Rostain and Regan's cautionary tale remains highly relevant today, as lawyers and accountants continue to face intense competitive pressure and regulators still struggle to keep pace with accelerating financial risk and innovation.","brand":"WoB","offers":[{"title":"- \/ - \/ -","offer_id":51052375769361,"sku":"","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":true},{"title":"US \/ NEW \/ INGRAM","offer_id":51052378358033,"sku":"NIN9781782013129","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":true},{"title":"GB \/ NEW \/ INGRAM","offer_id":52667952169233,"sku":"NLS9781782013129","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0784\/4072\/6801\/files\/1782013121.jpg?v=1751121798"},{"product_id":"desky-kernowek-book-nicholas-williams-9781904808954","title":"Desky Kernowek","description":null,"brand":"WoB","offers":[{"title":"- \/ - \/ -","offer_id":51052725829905,"sku":"","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":true},{"title":"US \/ NEW \/ INGRAM","offer_id":51052727927057,"sku":"NIN9781904808954","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":true},{"title":"GB \/ NEW \/ INGRAM","offer_id":52592893952273,"sku":"NLS9781904808954","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":true},{"title":"US \/ VERY_GOOD \/ SBYB","offer_id":52647770489105,"sku":"CIN1904808956VG","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":false}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0784\/4072\/6801\/files\/1904808956.jpg?v=1750726627"},{"product_id":"writings-on-revived-cornish-book-nicholas-williams-9781904808084","title":"Writings on Revived Cornish","description":"This book brings together in one convenient volume eight articles by Professor Nicholas Williams on the Cornish Revival.
