By deploying  traditional techniques of modelling, casting and  painting in order to recreate human figures they  follow different approaches towards a  contemporary form of figural realism.   The sculptures show how the way we see ou r  bodies has been subject to constant change. The publication presents artworks of all  important representatives of Hyperrealism. From the early pioneers like George Segal, Duane  Hanson and John DeAndrea this comprehensive  selection demonstrates how Hyperr ealistic  sculptures continuously developed up to the  current stars of the movement like Ron Mueck,  Sam Jinks, Evan Penny, Tony Matelli and Patricia  Piccinini.","brand":"WoB","offers":[{"title":"US \/ GOOD \/ SBYB","offer_id":50328072880401,"sku":"CIN3777431176G","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":false}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0784\/4072\/6801\/files\/3777431176.jpg?v=1780567674"},{"product_id":"allen-jones-book-otto-letze-9783775733489","title":"Allen Jones","description":"In celebration of the artists seventy-fifth birthday: an extensive monograph on the British Pop artist","brand":"WoB","offers":[{"title":"- \/ - \/ -","offer_id":50781001449745,"sku":"","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":true},{"title":"GB \/ VERY_GOOD \/ INTERNAL","offer_id":50781001777425,"sku":"GOR014070098","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":false}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0784\/4072\/6801\/files\/3775733485.jpg?v=1751417128"},{"product_id":"andreas-feininger-book-otto-letze-9783775714297","title":"Andreas Feininger","description":"The basic principles underlying the photographic art of Andreas Feininger, born in 1906 in Paris, the eldest son of painter Lyonel Feininger, are clarity, simplicity, and organization. Upon completion of training as a cabinet-maker at the Bauhaus in Weimar in the early twenties, he went on to study architecture at the Bauhaus in the state schools of architecture in Weimar and Zerbst. After working as an architectural photographer in Stockholm, he emigrated to New York following the outbreak of World War II. Feininger was hired as a photo-editor by Life magazine. In his own work, he captured images of urban canyons, skyscrapers, bridges, and elevated railways in concentrated, atmospheric photographs that are regarded as classical works today. He applied the same enthusiasm to nature studies. His detail images of insects, flowers, shells, wood, and stones imbue these forms with a sculptural character. The book presents the work of this prominent photographer, who died in 1999. Photorealists might also explore the subtle gradations of light in reflections; various shades and forms in shadow; as well as the multiple gradations of pigment within one apparently homogenous block of color. They often employ technical aids to create painted illusions: they photograph their source materials, transfer them with the aid of slide projectors or scans and then portray the final image precisely with the brush or spray gun on canvas. This publication presents works by leading figures in this movement, starting with first-generation Photorealists such as Richard Estes, Chuck Close and Don Eddy and moving through three generations of artists to the hyper-realistic visual experiences of contemporary digital artists such as Yigal Ozeri, Raphaella Spence and Robert Neffson. In a world awash with a dazzling infinity of instantly produced realistic images, from TV to Polaroids and (more recently) digital camera, these paintings can be spellbinding in their finely-honed precision, while exuding exceptional virtuosity.","brand":"WoB","offers":[{"title":"- \/ - \/ -","offer_id":51463964688657,"sku":"","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":true},{"title":"GB \/ VERY_GOOD \/ INTERNAL","offer_id":51463964983569,"sku":"GOR006891085","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":false},{"title":"US \/ GOOD \/ SBYB","offer_id":51894888694033,"sku":"CIN3775735852G","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":false}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0784\/4072\/6801\/files\/3775735852.jpg?v=1751441414"}],"url":"https:\/\/www.worldofbooks.com\/collections\/author-books-by-otto-letze.oembed","provider":"World of Books ","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
