The upside, of course, is that you may gain a perspective on a lo- time favorite subject which can be achieved in no other way. The fact is that the opportunity to write such a book as this is, indeed, a rare opportunity. This is especially so for someone who, by the calendar, is well into retirement years. While high T itself is the opportunity of a lifetime for those of us who c experienced it, and revisiting the old milestones in writing this monograph was a genuine nostalgia trip, it is also important to re?ect on the purpose of such a book as this. Now that the great majority of experimental high-T c studies are ?nished, who could be interested in such a book? To give some 2 1 kind of answer to this, let me pinpoint the 2006 M S Conference in Dresden.","brand":"WoB","offers":[{"title":"GB \/ NEW \/ INGRAM","offer_id":52332862210321,"sku":"NLS9783642094798","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0784\/4072\/6801\/files\/9783642094798.jpg?v=1758152923"},{"product_id":"nmr-probe-of-high-tc-materials-and-correlated-electron-systems-book-russell-e-walstedt-9783662572412","title":"The NMR Probe of High-Tc Materials and Correlated Electron Systems","description":"This new edition updates readers in three areas of NMR studies, namely, recent developments in high-Tc materials, heavy fermion systems and actinide oxides are presented. The NMR probe has yielded a vast array of data for solid state materials, corresponding to different compounds, ionic sites, and nuclear species, as well as to a wide variety of experimental conditions. The last two parts of the book are completely new in this edition, while the first part has seen major updates. This edition features the latest developments for high-Tc materials, especially the advances in the area of pseudogap studies are reviewed. An in depth overview of heavy fermion systems is presented in the second part, notably Kondo lattices, quantum critical points and unconventional superconductivity are areas of intense research recently and are covered extensively. Finally, valuable information from NMR studies with actinide oxides will be provided. Ongoing analysis and discussion of NMR data have resulted in a wealth of important insights into the physics of these exotic systems. The aims of this monograph are manifold. First, it reviews NMR methodology as it has been applied to the different studies. This is addressed to NMR practitioners and to physics laypersons alike. Next, it presents a review of NMR measurements and the wide variety of phenomena which they represent. The third phase is to recount the theoretical model calculations and other proposals which have been put forward to account for these data.","brand":"WoB","offers":[{"title":"- \/ - \/ INTERNAL","offer_id":52418434269457,"sku":null,"price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":true},{"title":"GB \/ NEW \/ GARDNERS","offer_id":52418435055889,"sku":"NGR9783662572412","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":false}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0784\/4072\/6801\/files\/9783662572412.jpg?v=1758929169"},{"product_id":"nmr-probe-of-high-tc-materials-and-correlated-electron-systems-book-russell-e-walstedt-9783662555804","title":"The NMR Probe of High-Tc Materials and Correlated Electron Systems","description":"This new edition updates readers in three areas of NMR studies, namely, recent developments in high-Tc materials, heavy fermion systems and actinide oxides are presented.
