Durch das Aufsuchen eines ausserschulischen Lernortes (Unterrichtsgang zum schulnahen Teich) und die Durchfuhrung verschiedener Versuche zu den Anpassungsmerkmalen der Stockente wird versucht, dem Prinzip der Handlungsorientierung zumindest teilweise Rechnung zu tragen. Die vorliegende Studie gliedert sich in zwei Abschnitte: die praxisbezogenen theoretischen Voruberlegungen sowie die unterrichtspraktische Darstellung. Im theoretischen Teil der Arbeit wird auf ausgewahlte biologische Aspekte der Stockente und ihre arttypischen Anpassungsmerkmale eingegangen, sowie ein grober Uberblick uber den aktuellen Forschungsstand im Sachunterricht gegeben - mit besonderem Fokus auf das Prinzip der Handlungsorientierung. Die unterrichtspraktischen Ausfuhrungen beinhalten zunachst eine Darstellung des Bedingungsfeldes und die Stellung des Themas im Lehrplan.
