In previous projects Vanoverberghe shows statues and pillars made out of stone, ruins in desolated landscapes or nature in a constant state of transformation.  For ‘Sandcastles And Rubbish’ a change in materiality took place, a change wherein Vanoverberghe investigates ‘new’ artefacts of our time.  Rusted and bend steel, gravel pits, sturdy and raw structures flirt with composition and elegancy.  Photographic works are presented alongside artefacts or ‘objets trouvées’.   Questions are raised about the value of an object and how value changes as time passes by. Vanoverberghes work is characterised by a constant flux of place and time.","brand":"WoB","offers":[{"title":"GB \/ NEW \/ GARDNERS","offer_id":49741458506001,"sku":"NGR9789493146778","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":false}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0784\/4072\/6801\/files\/9493146774.jpg?v=1750732358"},{"product_id":"musa-book-sybren-vanoverberghe-9789083438436","title":"MUSA","description":"The series MUSA consists of twenty-six works of UV printed photographs on brass. The works are divided into three sizes which measure 150 x 200, 37,5 x 50 and 80 x 100 cm. The photographs for these works have been taken at various greenhouses in Morocco, which harvest Banana Trees. On the images we see abstract impressions of green and yellow leaves pressed against the plastic sheeting of the greenhouses. On top of that we see strips of copper wiring that keep the plastic sheets in position. It is the first series of images in Vanoverberghe’s work that solely puts the focus on the natural aspect of our surroundings.   The work is a continuation in Vanoverberghe’s research to the material in which he presents his photographs.","brand":"WoB","offers":[{"title":"- \/ - \/ -","offer_id":51217099555089,"sku":"","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":true},{"title":"GB \/ NEW \/ GARDNERS","offer_id":51217102078225,"sku":"NGR9789083438436","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0784\/4072\/6801\/files\/9083438430.jpg?v=1751222933"},{"product_id":"1099-book-sybren-vanoverberghe-9789493146105","title":"1099","description":"‘1099’ is the second part of ‘2099’, a series of photographic works by Sybren Vanoverberghe.   The work originates from his interest in how time changes the landscape and the objects that can be found within. Vanoverberghe is questioning how we look at artifacts, icons and our (nearby) historical surroundings.  In ‘1099’ the focus of the work is mainly put on the materiality that can be found at several historical locations.  The book shows diverse elements dealing with a notion of the constant evolution of history.","brand":"WoB","offers":[{"title":"- \/ - \/ -","offer_id":51783791968529,"sku":null,"price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":true},{"title":"GB \/ NEW \/ GARDNERS","offer_id":51783792001297,"sku":"NGR9789493146105","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":false}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0784\/4072\/6801\/files\/9789493146105.jpg?v=1751927987"}],"url":"https:\/\/www.worldofbooks.com\/collections\/author-books-by-sybren-vanoverberghe.oembed","provider":"World of Books ","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
