Friendships and Legacies explores Moore's relationships with collectors Robert and Lisa Sainsbury and photographer John Hedgecoe and how they had impact on the public presentation of Moore and his work, who became one of the most prominent sculptors of the twentieth century. Moore became friends with Robert and Lisa Sainsbury after their first purchase of his work in 1933. They formed a close friendship and went on to acquire 22 important works by the artist. The Sainsburys gifted their personal collection to the University of East Anglia where Moore's works now form a key part of the displays both inside and outside the Sainsbury Centre. Henry Moore and John Hedgecoe had a close friendship spanning almost forty years. Hedgecoe took many photographs of Moore, producing four books about the artist and his work. Many of these photographs have become iconic, contributing to the public perception of Moore. Friendships and Legacies also includes 24 extended catalogue texts about each of the works by Moore in the Sainsbury Centre collection. The book is richly illustrated with archive images and new photography.","brand":"WoB","offers":[{"title":"GB \/ NEW \/ GARDNERS","offer_id":49741586694417,"sku":"NGR9781916133624","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":true},{"title":"GB \/ VERY_GOOD \/ INTERNAL","offer_id":52693438562577,"sku":"GOR014580495","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":false}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0784\/4072\/6801\/files\/1916133622.jpg?v=1751314996"},{"product_id":"rhythm-and-geometry-book-jon-wood-9781916133686","title":"Rhythm and Geometry","description":"Brings together a range of works and disciplines to celebrate Britains dynamic Constructivist art.","brand":"WoB","offers":[{"title":"GB \/ NEW \/ GARDNERS","offer_id":49745014096145,"sku":"NGR9781916133686","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":true},{"title":"GB \/ VERY_GOOD \/ INTERNAL","offer_id":51156891795729,"sku":"GOR014189521","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":false}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0784\/4072\/6801\/files\/1916133681.jpg?v=1751441656"},{"product_id":"can-the-seas-survive-us-book-tania-moore-9781836360049","title":"Can the Seas Survive Us?","description":"Addressing one of the urgent issues of climate crisis and environmental pollution, this book explores our relationship to the sea: how we live alongside it, our bodily relationship to it, its role in the creation of a connected, global society and, perhaps most critically, the threat we pose to it.    Through a broad selection of works by contemporary international artists, Can the Seas Survive Us? responds to the urgent need to resuscitate our seas. While the oceanic environment is essential to all life, its vulnerability to human action is highlighted by an ever-increasing loss of biodiversity. This book prompts the reader to imagine a future in which collective human behaviour can mitigate the effects of climate change. As ocean temperatures reach record highs, it is clear that time is not on our side. This ambitious project aspires to accelerate climate awareness and deliver the critical climate action we urgently need.","brand":"WoB","offers":[{"title":"- \/ - \/ -","offer_id":51627557388561,"sku":"","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":true},{"title":"GB \/ NEW \/ GARDNERS","offer_id":51627558043921,"sku":"NGR9781836360049","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":true},{"title":"GB \/ VERY_GOOD \/ INTERNAL","offer_id":51798355738897,"sku":"GOR014406747","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":true},{"title":"US \/ NEW \/ INGRAM","offer_id":52566107390225,"sku":"NIN9781836360049","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":false},{"title":"GB \/ NEW \/ INGRAM","offer_id":52619439898897,"sku":"NLS9781836360049","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":true},{"title":"US \/ LIKE_NEW \/ SBYB","offer_id":52884360102161,"sku":"CIN1836360045LN","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0784\/4072\/6801\/files\/1836360045.jpg?v=1753598340"},{"product_id":"what-is-the-meaning-of-life-book-tania-moore-9781836360438","title":"What is the Meaning of Life?","description":"Taking the most existential question, ‘What is the Meaning of Life?’, this publication dissects creative expression, considers the place for frivolity, and unpacks the rhythms and rules of the everyday to address how we might live more meaningfully.    In this highly illustrated book, John Kenneth Paranada looks at how creativity can offer a greater sense of purpose, and the role of art in resetting the tempo of a distracted culture. Ben Highmore and Sam Tacconi explore how embracing play and a gaming approach to life can bring value and make sense of behaviours, both on an individual level and across communities, while Ed Krčma and Jessica Barker address the evolving daily routines and societal rules by which we live our lives, examining how these impact our sense of purpose and belonging. Finally, Rosy Gray reflects on how grief can offer pause and how we can find solace in the multiverse, urging us to re-consider the meaning and value of our (many) lives.    This book accompanies a season of exhibitions and projects at the Sainsbury Centre.","brand":"WoB","offers":[{"title":"GB \/ NEW \/ GARDNERS","offer_id":53193261416721,"sku":"NGR9781836360438","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":true},{"title":"GB \/ NEW \/ INGRAM","offer_id":53375532466449,"sku":"NLS9781836360438","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0784\/4072\/6801\/files\/9781836360438.jpg?v=1772493904"}],"url":"https:\/\/www.worldofbooks.com\/collections\/author-books-by-tania-moore.oembed","provider":"World of Books ","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
