Die tausendfunfhundert Jahre alten Felsengrotten lieferten Steine fur das Kolosseum in El Jem und fur die Stadte Karthago und Utica. In Kerkouane ist eine ziemlich umfangreich ausgegrabene, alte punische Siedlung direkt am Meer zu bestaunen. Sehenswert in Zaghouan, wieder auf dem Festland, ist der romische Wassertempel vor einer steilen Felswand. Eine Wustensafari mit dem Jeep fuhrt nach El Jem mit dem grossten Kolosseum in Nordafrika und dem Amphitheater. Einen Kamelritt in den Sonnenuntergang uber der Sahara wird in der Oase El Faouar angeboten. Die Palmenoasen Douz, Tozeur und Nefta ziehen die Wustenreisenden ebenfalls in ihren Bann. Unzahlige Quellen lassen hunderttausende Dattelpalmen, Obst und Gemuse gedeihen, um die sich die Bauern und Halbnomaden der Gegend kummern. Vor allem fiel uns auf, dass die Bretonen sehr viel Wert auf gepflegte und bunte G rten und Gr nanlagen legen. Und noch eines fiel uns auf: die Bretagne ist zweisprachig - franz sisch und bretonisch, das sich wohl aus der alten Keltensprache entwickelt hat. Wir waren  berrascht, was hier alles w chst - 3,50 m hohe Yuccapalmen als B sche oder als 5 m hohe St mme, Feigenb ume, voll mit Fr chten, Mimosen, Eukalyptusb ume - wo sind wir? Unglaublich, dank des Golfstromes ist so etwas m glich. Diese s dlichen Pflanzen wachsen hier noch  ppiger als in der Normandie. Erquy ist die Hauptstadt der Jakobsmuschel. Weitere sehenswerte K stenst dte im Norden sind Binic, Paimpol, Tr guier und Ploumanac h, die Rosa-Granit-K ste an sich ist einmalig. Hinkelsteine und Dolmen haben wir z.B. in Penvenan, St. Uzec und vor allem in Carnac gefunden. Von Morlaix aus fuhren wir durch die Arr e-Berge nach Camaret, wo wir eigentlich tauchen wollten, doch das Wetter machte uns einen Strich durch die Rechnung. Auf der Halbinsel von Camaret besichtigten wir mehrere sehr sch ne Caps, bevor wir  ber Quimper nach Tron en, wo man den  ltesten Calvaire der Bretagne findet, weiterfuhren. Die Halbinsel Gu rande ist ber hmt f r ihre Salinen. Hier konnten wir uns ein Bild von der Meersalzgewinnung machen, der Schatz dieser Gegend hei t Fleur de Sel. Entlang der Loire fuhren wir wieder nach Hause. Neben diesen Aufz hlungen besuchten wir viele weitere Orte und Landschaften, die nicht minder interessant sind. Meist sind es Privatfahrten mit dem PKW, zu denen ein Fahrer geh rt. Vom Goldenen Dreieck Indiens hat wohl schon fast jeder geh rt. Es wird durch die drei St dte Delhi, Agra und Jaipur gebildet. Das sind die klassischen Rundfahrtorte. In Agra besuchten wir nat rlich das Taj Mahal und das Agra-Fort. Jaipur mit dem Palast der Winde ist als Rosa Stadt oder auch Edelsteinstadt bekannt. Da wir schon einmal in Indien waren, wollten wir alles sehen. Also beinhaltete unsere Rundfahrt zus tzlich die blaue Stadt Jodhpur, die den Beinamen die Elefantenstadt tr gt, mit dem Amber Fort. In Jodhpur findet man die mit Abstand gr  te Elefantendichte im Lande. Die Heilige Stadt Puschkar zieht mit dem Heiligen See, der einer der sehr wenigen nat rlichen Seen Rajasthans ist, die Besucher in seinen Bann. Udaipur ist die sch nste Stadt auf dieser Rajasthan-Rundreise. Der City-Palast, der Pichola-See und das Taj Palace, auf einer Insel im k nstlich angelegten See, sind die Hauptsehensw rdigkeiten der Stadt. Udaipur ist von Bergen umgeben, die zur Monsunzeit herrlich gr n sein sollen. Delhi und seine Sehensw rdigkeiten beschlossen den ersten Teil der Rundreise. Nach elf anstrengenden Tagen flogen wir in den S dwesten Indiens, nach Kochi im Bundesland Kerala. Der urspr nglichste Stadtteil Fort Kochi, ber hmt f r seine chinesischen Fischernetze, liegt auf einer der vielen Inseln Cochins.
