It is a complete reprinting and incorporates the MCM (2008 Edition), including all amendments to the Rules for Courts-Martial, Military Rules of Evidence (Mil. R. Evid.), and Punitive Articles made by the President in Executive Orders (EO) from 1984 to present, and specifically including EO 13468 (24 July 2008); EO 13552 (31 August 2010); and EO 13593 (13 December 2011). See Appendix 25. This edition also contains amendments to the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ) made by the National Defense Authorization Acts for Fiscal Years 2009 through 2012. Some of the significant changes are summarized and listed below. This summary is for quick reference only and should not be relied upon or cited by practitioners in lieu of the actual provisions of the MCM that have been amended. The MCM (2012 Edition) includes unique changes warranting attention. Discussion has been added or amended to address changes in practice resulting from United States v. Campbell, 71 M.J. 19 (C.A.A.F. 2012); United States v. Fosler, 70 M.J. 225 (C.A.A.F. 2011); and United States v. Jones, 68 M.J. 465 (C.A.A.F. 2010). See R.C.M. 307(c)(3); R.C.M. 307(c)(4); R.C.M. 906(b)(12); R.C.M. 907(b)(3)(B); R.C.M. 910(a)(1); R.C.M. 918(a)(1); R.C.M. 1003(c)(1)(C); and in Part IV of this Manual, paragraph 3b, paragraph 60c(6)(a), and the discussion at page IV-1. The Discussion added in 2012 was a short-term solution intended to address recent, broad changes in the law. Although it may describe legal requirements derived from other sources, the Discussion does not have the force of law. It is in the nature of a treatise, and may be used as secondary authority. The Discussion will be revised from time to time as warranted by changes in applicable law. See Composition of the Manual for Courts-Martial in Appendix 21 of this Manual. Practitioners are advised that the Mil. R. Evid. will be amended after the publication of this Manual and will take effect only after the President signs the relevant EO. Once approved, the revised Mil. R. Evid. will exist outside of this Manual until its next complete reprinting. Practitioners are also advised that Article 120 has been amended by the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2012, Public Law 112-81, 31 December 2011. The amended version of Article 120 creates three separate sexual offense statutes: Article 120 for adult offenses; Article 120b for child offenses; and Article 120c for other sexual offenses. Article 120a remains unchanged. As of 2012, there are now three versions of Article 120, and each version is located in a different part of this Manual. For offenses committed prior to 1 October 2007, the relevant sexual offense provisions are contained in Appendix 27. For offenses committed during the period 1 October 2007 through 27 June 2012, the relevant sexual offense provisions are contained in Appendix 28. For offenses committed on or after 28 June 2012, the relevant sexual offense provisions are contained in Part IV of this Manual (Articles 120, 120b, and 120c).","brand":"WoB","offers":[{"title":"US \/ GOOD \/ SBYB","offer_id":50102478373137,"sku":"CIN1481853147G","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":false}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0784\/4072\/6801\/files\/1481853147.jpg?v=1751307200"},{"product_id":"training-circular-tc-3-21-5-fm-3-21-5-drill-and-ceremonies-january-20-2012-us-ar-book-united-states-government-us-ar-9781470000264","title":"Training Circular TC 3-21.5 (FM 3-21.5) Drill and Ceremonies January 20, 2012 US Army","description":"This training circular provides guidance for Army wide uniformity in the conduct of drill and ceremonies. Its purpose is to provide authoritative doctrine for the sustainment of forces in full spectrum operations. It expands on sustainment doctrine introduced in FM 3-0 to incorporate a broader approach to sustaining the fighting force. The intent of this FM is to describe how sustainment builds and maintains combat power, supports strategic and operational reach, and enables endurance. This FM establishes how sustainment operations are integrated and synchronized into the overall operations process - plan, prepare, execute, and assess. In accordance with FM 3-0, the terms combat arms, combat support (CS), and combat service support (CSS) are no longer used as Army doctrine lexicon. The term sustainment covers many of the functions, tasks, and organizations formerly described under CSS although there are some differences which will be discussed in this FM. Sustainment includes the major sub-functions logistics, personnel services, and health services support. Sustainment as defined and discussed in this FM is compatible with the joint function, sustainment. FM 4-0 has five chapters and two appendices. It addresses the operational environment and modular force sustainment organizations. It introduces the roles and functions of the generating and operating forces. It explains the art of battle command from a sustainment commander's perspective. Finally, it explains sustainment as one of six warfighting functions (WFF) and presents doctrine for how sustainment is planned, prepared, executed, and continuously assessed. - Chapter 1 is the introduction to sustainment. It covers the principles of sustainment and the sustainment WFF. - Chapter 2 covers the roles and responsibilities of organizations providing sustainment in support of unified action. It links Army sustainment to joint sustainment operations. It covers commands, organizations, and agencies that provide sustainment including Joint organizations, Army Generating Forces, and Operating Forces. It also discusses sustainment to multinational operations. - Chapter 3 covers command and control. It discusses battle command from a sustainment perspective. It also discusses modular force sustainment organization and their relationships to Army operations. - Chapter 4 discusses the integration of sustainment into operations. It explains how sustainment considerations are integrated into the operations process. - Chapter 5 provides a more detailed discussion on the major functional elements of sustainment. - Appendix A contains details on the various information systems. - Appendix B lists the references for multinational Standardization Agreements (STANAGs) impacting on the sustainment of forces. FM 4-0 applies to the Active Army, the Army National Guard\/Army National Guard of the United States, the United States Army Reserve unless otherwise stated, and military and civilian leaders at all levels of war. It is intended as a guide and toolkit for military police investigators, USACIDC special agents (SAs), and military police Soldiers conducting law enforcement (LE) and LE investigations. It also serves to educate military police commanders and staff on LE investigations capabilities, enabling a more thorough understanding of those capabilities. This increased understanding facilitates staff planning, resource allocation, and the ability to articulate LE investigative capabilities and requirements to supported commanders and organizations. The principal audience for ATP 3-39.12 is Army military police personnel, which include Department of the Army (DA) civilian police, conducting LE investigation activities while assigned to military police brigades, battalions, companies, detachments, United States (U.S.) Army Criminal Investigation Command (USACIDC) elements, military police platoons supporting brigade combat teams, and Provost Marshal (PM) staffs. The manual also provides military police commanders and staffs with a framework and understanding of LE investigations and investigative capabilities that support decisive action. Commanders, staffs, and subordinates ensure their decisions and actions comply with applicable U.S., international, and, in some cases, host-nation (HN) laws and regulations. Commanders at all levels ensure their Soldiers operate in accordance with the law of war and the rules of engagement (see FM 27-10). ATP 3-39.12 uses joint terms where applicable. Selected joint and Army terms and definitions appear in both the glossary and the text. Terms for which ATP 3-39.12 is the proponent manual (the authority) are marked with an asterisk (*) in the glossary. Definitions for which ATP 3-39.12 is the proponent publication are boldfaced in the text. For other definitions shown in the text, the term is italicized and the number of the proponent publication follows the definition. ATP 3-39.12 applies to the Active Army, Army National Guard (ARNG)\/Army National Guard of the United States (ARNGUS), and United States Army Reserve (USAR) unless otherwise stated. The proponent of ATP 3-39.12 is the U.S. Army Military Police School (USAMPS). It describes both combat-tested tactics and procedures that have been modified to exploit emerging Army and joint offensive and defensive capabilities. FM 3-90-1 expounds on the doctrinal fundamentals established in Army Doctrine Reference Publication (ADRP) 3-90. ADRP 3-90 must be read before reading FM 3-90-1, since that is where doctrine for the conduct of offensive and defensive tasks and the art and science of tactics is found. FM 3-90-1 addresses the basic tactics associated with the conduct of offensive and defensive tasks. The principal audience for FM 3-90-1 is all members of the profession of arms. Commanders and staffs of Army headquarters serving as a joint task force or multinational headquarters should also refer to applicable joint or multinational doctrine concerning the range of military operations and joint or multinational forces. Trainers and educators throughout the Army will also use this publication. FM 3-90-1 focuses on the organization of forces, minimum essential control measures, and general planning, preparation, and execution considerations for each primary offensive and defensive task. It is the common reference for all students of the art and science of tactics, both in the field and the Army school system. The offensive and defensive considerations in this publication apply to small tactical units, such as companies and battalions, even though most of the figures in this publication use the division and the brigade combat team (BCT) echelons to illustrate points in the text. Echelon-specific field manuals and Army techniques publications address the specifics of how each tactical echelon employs these tactical concepts.","brand":"WoB","offers":[{"title":"US \/ GOOD \/ SBYB","offer_id":50386736808209,"sku":"CIN1512045233G","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":false}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0784\/4072\/6801\/files\/1512045233.jpg?v=1750957002"},{"product_id":"2013-2014-and-2015-amendments-to-the-2012-edition-of-the-united-states-manual-fo-book-united-states-government-us-ar-9781517210052","title":"2013, 2014, and 2015 Amendments to the 2012 Edition of the United States Manual for Courts-Martial","description":"The 2013, 2014, and 2015 Amendments to the Manual for Courts-Martial (MCM), United States (2012 Edition). Our goal is to provide DoD personnel with real examples of Federal employees who have intentionally or unwittingly violated the standards of conduct. Some cases are humorous, some sad, and all are real. Some will anger you as a Federal employee and some will anger you as an American taxpayer. Please pay particular attention to the multiple jail and probation sentences, fines, employment terminations and other sanctions that were taken as a result of these ethical failures. Violations of many ethical standards involve criminal statutes. Protect yourself and your employees by learning what you need to know and accessing your Agency ethics counselor if you become unsure of the proper course of conduct. Be sure to access them before you take action regarding the issue in question. Many of the cases displayed in this collection could have been avoided completely if the offender had taken this simple precaution. The cases have been arranged according to offense for ease of access. The principle audience for FM 3-0 is commanders, staffs, and leaders of theater armies, corps, divisions, and brigades. This manual also provides the foundation for training and Army education system curricula and future capabilities development across doctrine, organization, training, materiel, leadership and education, personnel, and facilities (known as DOTMLPF). FM 3-0 applies to the Active Army, the Army National Guard\/Army National Guard of the United States, and the United States Army Reserve unless otherwise stated. Today's operational environment presents threats to the Army and joint force that are significantly more dangerous in terms of capability and magnitude than those we faced in Iraq and Afghanistan. Major regional powers like Russia, China, Iran, and North Korea are actively seeking to gain strategic positional advantage. These nations, and other adversaries, are fielding capabilities to deny long-held U.S. freedom of action in the air, land, maritime, space, and cyberspace domains and reduce U.S. influence in critical areas of the world. In some contexts they already have overmatch or parity, a challenge the joint force has not faced in twenty-five years. The proliferation of advanced technologies; adversary emphasis on force training, modernization, and professionalization; the rise of revisionist, revanchist, and extremist ideologies; and the ever increasing speed of human interaction makes large-scale ground combat more lethal, and more likely, than it has been in a generation. As the Army and the joint force focused on counter-insurgency and counter-terrorism at the expense of other capabilities, our adversaries watched, learned, adapted, modernized and devised strategies that put us at a position of relative disadvantage in places where we may be required to fight. The Army and joint force must adapt and prepare for large-scale combat operations in highly contested, lethal environments where enemies employ potent long range fires and other capabilities that rival or surpass our own. The risk of inaction is great; the less prepared we are to meet these challenges, the greater the likelihood for conflict with those who seek windows of opportunity to exploit. The reduction of friendly, forward-stationed forces, significant reductions in capability and capacity across the entire joint force, and the pace of modernization make it imperative that we do everything possible to prepare for worst-case scenarios. We must be ready to win with the forces we have, and having the right doctrine is a critical part of that readiness. FM 3-0 provides a doctrinal approach for our theater armies, corps, divisions and brigades to address the challenges of shaping operational environments, preventing conflict, prevailing during large-scale ground combat, and consolidating gains to follow through on tactical success. FM 3-0 is about how we deter adversaries and fight a peer threat today, with today's forces and today's capabilities. It addresses operations to counter threats in three broad contexts that account for what the Nation asks its Army to do. Two chapters describe operations to defeat aggression by subversion of U.S. partners and interests, which is fundamental to winning short of war. Three chapters describe operations to defeat enemies during large-scale ground combat operations, which is fundamental to winning wars. The final chapter describes operations to complete the tasks necessary to ensure enduring outcomes, which is fundamental to achieving the ultimate strategic purpose of employing Army forces.","brand":"WoB","offers":[{"title":"- \/ - \/ -","offer_id":51331825434897,"sku":"","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":true},{"title":"US \/ VERY_GOOD \/ SBYB","offer_id":51331827761425,"sku":"CIN1978056389VG","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":false}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0784\/4072\/6801\/files\/1978056389.jpg?v=1751188389"},{"product_id":"u-s-army-war-college-guide-to-national-security-issues-volume-ii-book-united-states-government-us-ar-9781979225328","title":"U. S. Army War College Guide To National Security Issues Volume II","description":"U. S. Army War College Guide To National Security Issues Volume II: National Security Policy And Strategy 2012 This edition of the U. S. Army War College Guide to National Security Policy and Strategy continues to reflect the structure and approach of the core national security strategy and policy curriculum at the War College. The fifth edition is published in two volumes that correspond roughly to the Department of National Security and Strategy's core courses: Theory of War and Strategy and National Security Policy and Strategy. Like previous editions, this one is based on its predecessor but contains both updates and new scholarship. Over a third of the chapters are new or have undergone significant rewrites. Many chapters, some of which appeared for years in this work, have been removed. Nevertheless, the book remains unchanged in intent and purpose. Although this is not primarily a textbook, it does reflect both the method and manner we use to teach strategy formulation to America's future senior leaders. The book is not a comprehensive or exhaustive treatment of either strategic theory or the policymaking process. Both volumes are organized to proceed from the general to the specific. Thus, the first volume opens with general thoughts on the nature and theory of war and strategy, proceeds to look at the complex aspect of power, and concludes with specific theoretical issues. Similarly, the second volume begins by examining the policy\/strategy process, moves to a look at the strategic environment, and concludes with some specific issues. This edition continues the effort begun in the fourth edition to include several short case studies to illustrate the primary material in the volume.","brand":"WoB","offers":[{"title":"- \/ - \/ -","offer_id":51333319393553,"sku":"","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":true},{"title":"US \/ GOOD \/ SBYB","offer_id":51333322146065,"sku":"CIN197922532XG","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":false}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0784\/4072\/6801\/files\/197922532X.jpg?v=1750901570"}],"url":"https:\/\/www.worldofbooks.com\/collections\/author-books-by-united-states-government-us-army.oembed?page=3","provider":"World of Books ","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
