Viele Sektionen werden durch ein Obersichtsreferat eingeleitel. Die Gestaltung des Programms ist zu einem groBen Teil das Verdienst der einzelnen Sektionsleiter. Ihnen gebOhrt dafOr herzlicher Dank. Wahrend bei dieser wie bei frOheren Jahrestagungen die Teilnehmer etwa in glei- cher Anzahl von Hochschulen wie aus der Praxis kommen, werden die Vortrage doch zu fast drei Vierteln von HochschulangehOrigen gehalten. Zwei neu in das Programm aufgenommene Sektionen, Anwendungsberichte aus der Praxis im Offentlichen Be- reich und, Anwendungsberichte aus der industriellen Praxis, tragen dem Rech- nung. The traditional application fields are growing together in the scope of the current 'Supply Chain Management' thinking. This is considered in a corresponding section. Its high number of papers at the conference and in this volume underlines the importance of Operations Research for this modem management concept. Die Proceedings sollen einen Oberblick uber das wissenschaftliche Programm der Tagung geben. In den beiden Sektionen OR in der Datenverarbeitung und Angewandte Statistik erfolgte eine Diskussion von Grenzgebieten, die einen erheblichen EinfluB auf die Formulierung und Losung von Problemen des Operations Research besitzen. Mehr als 300 Teilnehmer waren der Einladung der DGOR gefolgt, neue methodische Entwicklungslinien und aktuelle Anwendungsverfahren auf den unterschiedlichsten Gebieten des Operations Research miteinander zu diskutieren. Es wurden 112 Fachvortr ge gehalten, die nach thematischen Schwerpunkten in 13 Sektionen gegliedert waren. 59 von diesen 112 Fachvortr gen sind in den Proceedings mit einer etwa 8 Seiten umfassenden langfassung enthalten, 53 in einer Kurzfassung von in der Regel einer Seite, auf der die von dem Referenten behandelte Problemstellung dargestellt ist. Dem leser, der aufgrund der lekt re einer Kurzfassung an einer bestimmten Problemstellung besonders interessiert ist, bietet das Verzeichnis der Autoren und Referenten am Ende des Buches die M glichkeit, sich mit dem jeweiligen Autor unmittelbar in Verbindung zu setzen. Von den 13 Sektionen waren 7 vom Schwerpunkt her eher methodisch orientiert und 6 eher anwendungsorientiert. Bei den anwendungsorientierten Sektionen war die Beteiligung in den Sektionen Verteidigungsplanung (10 Vortr ge), Anwen- dungsberichte aus der Praxis (9 Vortr ge) und logistik und Verkehr (9 Vor- tr ge) besonders gro . Bei den methodisch orientierten Sektionen waren die Sektionen mit besonders gro er Beteiligung die Sektionen Stochastische Ent- scheidungsprozesse (15 Vortr ge), Dynamische Optimierung und Kontrolltheo- rie (13 Vortr ge) und Kombinatorische Optimierung (8 Vortr ge).
