Throughout the coverage, which is limited to single-particle quantum mechanics, the focus is on formulating theory and developing applications in a mathematically precise manner. Following a review of selected key concepts in classical physics and the historical background, the basic elements of the theory of operators in Hilbert spaces are presented and used to formulate the rules of quantum mechanics. The discussion then turns to free particles, harmonic oscillators, delta potential, and hydrogen atoms, providing rigorous proofs of the corresponding dynamical properties. Starting from an analysis of these applications, readers are subsequently introduced to more advanced topics such as the classical limit, scattering theory, and spectral analysis of Schrödinger operators. The main content is complemented by numerous exercises that stimulate interactive learning and help readers check their progress.","brand":"WoB","offers":[{"title":"GB \/ NEW \/ GARDNERS","offer_id":49738086088977,"sku":"NGR9783319778921","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":false},{"title":"GB \/ NEW \/ INGRAM","offer_id":52119764533521,"sku":"NLS9783319778921","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0784\/4072\/6801\/files\/3319778927.jpg?v=1751284982"},{"product_id":"theory-and-simulation-of-random-phenomena-book-ettore-vitali-9783319905143","title":"Theory and Simulation of Random Phenomena","description":"The purpose of this book is twofold: first, it sets out to equip the reader with a sound understanding of the foundations of probability theory and stochastic processes, offering step-by-step guidance from basic probability theory to advanced topics, such as stochastic differential equations, which typically are presented in textbooks that require a very strong mathematical background. Second, while leading the reader on this journey, it aims to impart the knowledge needed in order to develop algorithms that simulate realistic physical systems. Connections with several fields of pure and applied physics, from quantum mechanics to econophysics, are provided. Furthermore, the inclusion of fully solved exercises will enable the reader to learn quickly and to explore topics not covered in the main text. The book will appeal especially to graduate students wishing to learn how to simulate physical systems and to deepen their knowledge of the mathematical framework, which has very deep connections with modern quantum field theory.","brand":"WoB","offers":[{"title":"GB \/ NEW \/ GARDNERS","offer_id":49738122756369,"sku":"NGR9783319905143","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":true},{"title":"GB \/ NEW \/ INGRAM","offer_id":52584885911825,"sku":"NLS9783319905143","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0784\/4072\/6801\/files\/3319905147.jpg?v=1751440656"},{"product_id":"selected-exercises-in-particle-and-nuclear-physics-book-lorenzo-bianchini-9783319704937","title":"Selected Exercises in Particle and Nuclear Physics","description":"This book presents more than 300 exercises, with guided solutions, on topics that span both the experimental and the theoretical aspects of particle physics. The exercises are organized by subject, covering kinematics, interactions of particles with matter, particle detectors, hadrons and resonances, electroweak interactions and flavor physics, statistics and data analysis, and accelerators and beam dynamics. Some 200 of the exercises, including 50 in multiple-choice format, derive from exams set by the Italian National Institute for Nuclear Research (INFN) over the past decade to select its scientific staff of experimental researchers. The remainder comprise problems taken from the undergraduate classes at ETH Zurich or inspired by classic textbooks. Whenever appropriate, in-depth information is provided on the source of the problem, and readers will also benefit from the inclusion of bibliographic details and short dissertations on particular topics. It is based on the lecture notes prepared for the one-semester course of \"Quantum Physics\" belonging to the Bachelor of Science in Material Sciences at the University of Padova. The first chapter briefly reviews the ideas of classical statistical mechanics introduced by James Clerk Maxwell, Ludwig Boltzmann, Willard Gibbs, and others. The second chapter is devoted to the special relativity of Albert Einstein. In the third chapter, it is historically analyzed the quantization of light due to Max Planck and Albert Einstein, while the fourth chapter discusses the Niels Bohr quantization of the energy levels and the electromagnetic transitions. The fifth chapter investigates the Schrodinger equation, which was obtained by Erwin Schrodinger from the idea of Louis De Broglie to associate to each particle a quantum wavelength. Chapter Six describes the basic axiomsof quantum mechanics, which were formulated in the seminal books of Paul Dirac and John von Neumann. In chapter seven, there are several important application of quantum mechanics: the quantum particle in a box, the quantum particle in the harmonic potential, the quantum tunneling, the stationary perturbation theory, and the time-dependent perturbation theory. Chapter Eight is devoted to the study of quantum atomic physics with special emphasis on the spin of the electron, which needs the Dirac equation for a rigorous theoretical justification. In the ninth chapter, it is explained the quantum mechanics of many identical particles at zero temperature, while in Chapter Ten the discussion is extended to many quantum particles at finite temperature by introducing and using the quantum statistical mechanics.  The four appendices on Dirac delta function, complex numbers, Fourier transform, and differential equations are a useful mathematical aid for the reader.","brand":"WoB","offers":[{"title":"GB \/ NEW \/ GARDNERS","offer_id":49743673262353,"sku":"NGR9783030937454","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":true},{"title":"US \/ NEW \/ INGRAM","offer_id":51060223574289,"sku":"NIN9783030937454","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":false},{"title":"GB \/ NEW \/ INGRAM","offer_id":52682552803601,"sku":"NLS9783030937454","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":false}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0784\/4072\/6801\/files\/3030937453.jpg?v=1751317370"},{"product_id":"general-relativity-and-gravitational-waves-book-sanjeev-dhurandhar-9783030923372","title":"General Relativity and Gravitational Waves","description":"This book serves as a textbook for senior undergraduate students who are learning the subject of general relativity and gravitational waves for the first time. Both authors have been teaching the course in various forms for a few decades and have designed the book as a one stop book at basic level including derivations and exercises. A spectacular prediction of general relativity is gravitational waves. Gravitational waves were first detected by the LIGO detectors in 2015, hundred years after their prediction. Both authors are part of the LIGO Science Collaboration and were authors on the discovery paper. Therefore, a strong motivation for this book is to provide the essential concepts of general relativity theory and gravitational waves with their modern applications to students and to researchers who are new to the multi-disciplinary field of gravitational wave astronomy. One of the advanced topics covered in this book is the fundamentals of gravitational wave data analysis, filling a gap in textbooks on general relativity. The topic blends smoothly with other chapters in the book not only because of the common area of research, but it uses similar differential geometric and algebraic tools that are used in general relativity.","brand":"WoB","offers":[{"title":"GB \/ NEW \/ GARDNERS","offer_id":49743682109713,"sku":"NGR9783030923372","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":false},{"title":"GB \/ NEW \/ INGRAM","offer_id":52685518930193,"sku":"NLS9783030923372","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":true},{"title":"US \/ NEW \/ INGRAM","offer_id":52760995201297,"sku":"NIN9783030923372","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":false}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0784\/4072\/6801\/files\/3030923371.jpg?v=1751157884"},{"product_id":"modern-nuclear-physics-book-alexandre-obertelli-9789811622915","title":"Modern Nuclear Physics","description":"This textbook is a unique and ambitious primer of nuclear physics, which introduces recent theoretical and experimental progresses starting from basics in fundamental quantum mechanics. The highlight is to offer an overview of nuclear structure phenomena relevant to recent key findings such as unstable halo nuclei, superheavy elements, neutron stars, nucleosynthesis, the standard model, lattice quantum chromodynamics (LQCD), and chiral effective theory. An additional attraction is that general properties of nuclei are comprehensively explained from both the theoretical and experimental viewpoints. The book begins with the conceptual and mathematical basics of quantum mechanics, and goes into the main point of nuclear physics – nuclear structure, radioactive ion beam physics, and nuclear reactions. The last chapters devote interdisciplinary topics in association with astrophysics and particle physics. A number of illustrations and exercises with complete solutions are given. The Schrödinger equation and its solutions are developed in detail. It is pointed out that, starting from the concept of the harmonic oscillator, it is possible to develop advanced quantum mechanics. Furthermore, the mathematics behind the Heisenberg uncertainty principle is constructed towards advanced quantum mechanical principles. Relativistic quantum mechanics is finally considered. The book is devoted to undergraduate students from University courses of Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, and Engineering. The target audience is physics students at master’s level. It avoids historical developments, which are piecemeal, not logically well knitted, and may lead to misconceptions. Instead, in the present approach all of QM and all its rules are developed logically starting from the fundamental postulates only and no other assumptions. Specially noteworthy topics have been developed in a smooth contiguous fashion following the central theme. They provide a new approach to understanding QM. In most other texts, these are presented as disjoint separate topics. Since the reader may not be acquainted with advanced mathematical topics like linear vector space, a number of such topics have been presented as “mathematical preliminary.” Standard topics, viz. derivation of uncertainty relations, simple harmonic oscillator by operator method, bound systems in one and three dimensions, angular momentum, hydrogen-like atom, and scattering in one and three dimensions, are woven into the central theme. Advanced topics like approximation methods, spin and generalized angular momenta, addition of angular momenta, and relativistic quantum mechanics have been reserved for Volume II. ","brand":"WoB","offers":[{"title":"GB \/ NEW \/ GARDNERS","offer_id":49746904318225,"sku":"NGR9789819904938","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":false},{"title":"GB \/ NEW \/ INGRAM","offer_id":52689746788625,"sku":"NLS9789819904938","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0784\/4072\/6801\/files\/9819904935.jpg?v=1750871983"},{"product_id":"probability-and-stochastic-processes-for-physicists-book-nicola-cufaro-petroni-9783030484071","title":"Probability and Stochastic Processes for Physicists","description":"This book seeks to bridge the gap between the parlance, the models, and even the notations used by physicists and those used by mathematicians when it comes to the topic of probability and stochastic processes. The opening four chapters elucidate the basic concepts of probability, including probability spaces and measures, random variables, and limit theorems. Here, the focus is mainly on models and ideas rather than the mathematical tools. The discussion of limit theorems serves as a gateway to extensive coverage of the theory of stochastic processes, including, for example, stationarity and ergodicity, Poisson and Wiener processes and their trajectories, other Markov processes, jump-diffusion processes, stochastic calculus, and stochastic differential equations. All these conceptual tools then converge in a dynamical theory of Brownian motion that compares the Einstein–Smoluchowski and Ornstein–Uhlenbeck approaches, highlighting the most important ideas that finally led to a connection between the Schrödinger equation and diffusion processes along the lines of Nelson’s stochastic mechanics. Instead of isolating electronics as an art, its primary goal is to explain the physical principles behind electronic circuits and how they are applied practically. Electronics provides a framework for understanding physics, and vice versa. It is intended for advanced undergraduate or graduate students in physics or related fields who have a basic grasp of electromagnetism and calculus. It also caters to individuals with practical electronics knowledge looking to deepen their understanding of often overlooked concepts. While traditional textbooks treat electronics as a set of techniques, the growing availability of affordable acquisition boards and user-friendly software has diminished the need for expertise in circuit design. Nonetheless, physicists still need to comprehend concepts like stability, impedance matching, noise, and the advantages and limitations of signal sampling. Starting with linear time-invariant systems and feedback, the book progresses to designing circuits using operational amplifiers and oscillators, covering stability and dissipation. It also delves into the Nyquist-Shannon theorem and the basics of digital electronics, emphasizing state-sensitive and clock-sensitive operators. Additionally, it offers an overview of electronic devices facilitating analog-to-digital conversion. The book concludes by examining scenarios involving high frequencies where wires act as waveguides and addressing noise sources from thermal agitation and the corpuscular nature of current. Theoretical concepts are reinforced with solved exercises, and practical \"in-the-lab\" sections guide readers through experiments using affordable kits and instruments, requiring minimal electronic prototyping knowledge.","brand":"WoB","offers":[{"title":"GB \/ NEW \/ GARDNERS","offer_id":50224758587665,"sku":"NGR9783031554599","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":false}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0784\/4072\/6801\/files\/3031554590.jpg?v=1751221009"},{"product_id":"solved-problems-in-quantum-mechanics-book-leonardo-angelini-9783030184063","title":"Solved Problems in Quantum Mechanics","description":"This book presents a large collection of problems in Quantum Mechanics that are solvable within a limited time and using simple mathematics. Topics included are:  representations of Feynman integrals, integration-by-parts, differential equations, intersection theory, multiple polylogarithms, Gelfand-Kapranov-Zelevinsky systems, coactions and symbols, cluster algebras, elliptic Feynman integrals, and motives associated with Feynman integrals. This volume is aimed at a) students at the master's level in physics or mathematics,  b) physicists who want to learn how to calculate Feynman integrals (for whom state-of-the-art techniques and computations are provided), and c) mathematicians who are interested in the mathematical aspects underlying Feynman integrals. It is, indeed, the interwoven nature of their physical and mathematical aspects that make Feynman integrals so enthralling.","brand":"WoB","offers":[{"title":"- \/ - \/ -","offer_id":51061810266385,"sku":"","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":true},{"title":"US \/ NEW \/ INGRAM","offer_id":51061813018897,"sku":"NIN9783030995577","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":false},{"title":"GB \/ NEW \/ INGRAM","offer_id":52129449672977,"sku":"NLS9783030995577","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0784\/4072\/6801\/files\/3030995577.jpg?v=1751220867"},{"product_id":"general-relativity-and-gravitational-waves-book-sanjeev-dhurandhar-9783030923341","title":"General Relativity and Gravitational Waves","description":"This book serves as a textbook for senior undergraduate students who are learning the subject of general relativity and gravitational waves for the first time. The topic blends smoothly with other chapters in the book not only because of the common area of research, but it uses similar differential geometric and algebraic tools that are used in general relativity.","brand":"WoB","offers":[{"title":"- \/ - \/ -","offer_id":51061838020881,"sku":"","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":true},{"title":"US \/ NEW \/ INGRAM","offer_id":51061840838929,"sku":"NIN9783030923341","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":false},{"title":"GB \/ NEW \/ INGRAM","offer_id":52405750989073,"sku":"NLS9783030923341","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0784\/4072\/6801\/files\/3030923347.jpg?v=1750806105"},{"product_id":"primer-on-hilbert-space-theory-book-carlo-alabiso-9783030674168","title":"A Primer on Hilbert Space Theory","description":"This book offers an essential introduction to the theory of Hilbert space, a fundamental tool for non-relativistic quantum mechanics. Linear, topological, metric, and normed spaces are all addressed in detail, in a rigorous but reader-friendly fashion.  The rationale for providing an introduction to the theory of Hilbert space, rather than a detailed study of Hilbert space theory itself, lies in the strenuous mathematics demands that even the simplest physical cases entail. Graduate courses in physics rarely offer enough time to cover the theory of Hilbert space and operators, as well as distribution theory, with sufficient mathematical rigor. Accordingly, compromises must be found between full rigor and the practical use of the instruments. Based on one of the authors’s lectures on functional analysis for graduate students in physics, the book will equip readers to approach Hilbert space and, subsequently, rigged Hilbert space, with a more practical attitude. It also includes a brief introduction to topological groups, and to other mathematical structures akin to Hilbert space. Exercises and solved problems accompany the main text, offering readers opportunities to deepen their understanding. The topics and their presentation have been chosen with the goal of quickly, yet rigorously and effectively, preparing readers for the intricacies of Hilbert space. Consequently, some topics, e.g., the Lebesgue integral, are treated in a somewhat unorthodox manner. The book is ideally suited for use in upper undergraduate and lower graduate courses, both in Physics and in Mathematics.","brand":"WoB","offers":[{"title":"- \/ - \/ -","offer_id":51061856305425,"sku":"","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":true},{"title":"US \/ NEW \/ INGRAM","offer_id":51061858697489,"sku":"NIN9783030674168","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":false},{"title":"GB \/ NEW \/ INGRAM","offer_id":52531003621649,"sku":"NLS9783030674168","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0784\/4072\/6801\/files\/3030674169.jpg?v=1750901946"},{"product_id":"concepts-in-quantum-field-theory-book-victor-ilisie-9783319387239","title":"Concepts in Quantum Field Theory","description":"This book uses less strict yet still formal mathematical language to clarify a variety of concepts in Quantum Field Theory that remain somewhat “fuzzy” in many books designed for undergraduates and fresh graduates. The aim is not to replace formal books on Quantum Field Theory, but rather to offer a helpful complementary tool for beginners in the field. Features include a reader-friendly introduction to tensor calculus and the concept of manifolds; a simple and robust treatment for dimensional regularization; a consistent explanation of the renormalization procedure, step by step and in a transparent manner at all orders, using the QED Lagrangian; and extensive treatment of infrared as well as ultraviolet divergences. The most general (Lorentz invariant) form of Noether's theorem is presented and applied to a few simple yet relevant examples in Quantum Field Theory. These and further interesting topics are addressed in a way that will be accessible for the target readership. A series of appendices cover particular details and calculations, and offer concise treatments of particular thought-provoking topics.","brand":"WoB","offers":[{"title":"- \/ - \/ -","offer_id":51063753900305,"sku":"","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":true},{"title":"US \/ NEW \/ INGRAM","offer_id":51063757406481,"sku":"NIN9783030484101","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":false},{"title":"GB \/ NEW \/ INGRAM","offer_id":52617262498065,"sku":"NLS9783030484101","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0784\/4072\/6801\/files\/3030484106.jpg?v=1750933882"},{"product_id":"mathematical-journey-to-quantum-mechanics-book-salvatore-capozziello-9783030860974","title":"A Mathematical Journey to Quantum Mechanics","description":"This book provides an itinerary to quantum mechanics taking into account the basic mathematics to formulate it. Basics of the theory of groups and Lie algebras are explained, with discussion of the group of rotations and the Lorentz and Poincaré groups. In addition, a concise account of representation theory and of tensor calculus is provided. Quantization of the electromagnetic field in the radiation range is fully discussed. The essentials of the Lagrangian and Hamiltonian formalisms are reviewed, proceeding from systems with a finite number of degrees of freedom and extending the discussion to fields. The final four chapters are devoted to development of the quantum field theory, ultimately introducing the graphical description of interaction processes by means of Feynman diagrams. ","brand":"WoB","offers":[{"title":"- \/ - \/ -","offer_id":51632010264849,"sku":"","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":true},{"title":"GB \/ NEW \/ GARDNERS","offer_id":51632010494225,"sku":"NGR9789819904969","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0784\/4072\/6801\/files\/981990496X.jpg?v=1751160833"},{"product_id":"educational-and-amateur-geiger-counter-experiments-book-francesco-riggi-9783031569623","title":"Educational and Amateur Geiger Counter Experiments","description":"This book offers a comprehensive collection of introductory experiments in nuclear and cosmic ray physics utilizing Geiger counters. The rotation of stars is a basic parameter that enters into the dynamo mechanisms that generates stellar activity. The faster stars rotate the higher stellar activity. Moreover, the rotation can also be used to determine stellar ages. Only in the case of the Sun we can directly observe details and therefore determine, e.g., the differential rotation. Thus, the Sun is a prototype for studying other stars. The textbook presents techniques that enable to determine rotation on stars and give a comparison of how stars rotate according to their spectral type and evolution. Special cases are given such as rapidly rotating stars that are strongly deformed into ellipsoids. The textbook is intended for professionals and students in Astrophysicists as well as readers interested in science in general.","brand":"WoB","offers":[{"title":"- \/ - \/ -","offer_id":51848460599569,"sku":null,"price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":true},{"title":"US \/ VERY_GOOD \/ SBYB","offer_id":51848460927249,"sku":"CIN9819733642VG","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":false},{"title":"GB \/ NEW \/ GARDNERS","offer_id":52152556028177,"sku":"NGR9789819733644","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":false}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0784\/4072\/6801\/files\/9789819733644.jpg?v=1753456908"},{"product_id":"primer-of-analytical-mechanics-book-franco-strocchi-9783319737607","title":"A Primer of Analytical Mechanics","description":"This book presents the basic elements of Analytical Mechanics, starting from the physical motivations that favor it with respect to the Newtonian Mechanics in Cartesian coordinates. Rather than presenting Analytical Mechanics mainly as a formal development of Newtonian Mechanics, it highlights its effectiveness due to the following five important achievements: 1) the most economical description of time evolution in terms of the minimal set of coordinates, so that there are no constraint forces in their evolution equations; 2) the form invariance of the evolution equations, which automatically solves the problem of fictitious forces; 3) only one scalar function encodes the formulation of the dynamics, rather than the full set of vectors which describe the forces in Cartesian Newtonian Mechanics; 4) in the Hamiltonian formulation, the corresponding evolution equations are of first order in time and are fully governed by the Hamiltonian function (usually corresponding to the energy); 5) the emergence of the Hamiltonian canonical algebra and its effectiveness in simplifying the control of the dynamical problem (e.g. the constant of motions identified by the Poisson brackets with the Hamiltonian, the relation between symmetries and conservations laws, the use of canonical transformations to reduce the Hamiltonian to a simpler form etc.). The book also addresses a number of points usually not included in textbook presentations of Analytical Mechanics, such as 1) the characterization of the cases in which the Hamiltonian differs from the energy, 2) the characterization of the non-uniqueness of the Lagrangian and of the Hamiltonian and its relation to a “gauge” transformation, 3) the Hamiltonian formulation of the Noether theorem, with the possibility that the constant of motion corresponding to a continuous symmetry of the dynamics is not the canonical generator of the symmetry transformation but also involves the generator of a gauge transformation. In turn, the book’s closing chapter is devoted to explaining the extraordinary analogy between the canonical structure of Classical and Quantum Mechanics. By correcting the Dirac proposal for such an explanation, it demonstrates that there is a common Poisson algebra shared by Classical and Quantum Mechanics, the differences between the two theories being reducible to the value of the central variable of that algebra.","brand":"WoB","offers":[{"title":"GB \/ NEW \/ INGRAM","offer_id":52120435851537,"sku":"NLS9783319737607","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0784\/4072\/6801\/files\/9783319737607.jpg?v=1757425723"},{"product_id":"metodi-matematici-della-fisica-book-giampaolo-cicogna-9788847056831","title":"Metodi matematici della Fisica","description":"Questo libro trae la sua origine dagli appunti preparati per le lezioni di Metodi Matematici della Fisica tenute al Dipartimento di Fisica dell'Universita di Pisa, e via via sistemati, raffinati e aggiornati nel corso di molti anni di insegnamento.","brand":"WoB","offers":[{"title":"GB \/ NEW \/ INGRAM","offer_id":52124019392785,"sku":"NLS9788847056831","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0784\/4072\/6801\/files\/9788847056831.jpg?v=1757454874"},{"product_id":"statistical-physics-book-roberto-piazza-9783319445366","title":"Statistical Physics","description":"This book, provides a general introduction to the ideas and methods of statistical mechanics with the principal aim of meeting the needs of Masters students in chemical, mechanical, and materials science engineering.","brand":"WoB","offers":[{"title":"GB \/ NEW \/ INGRAM","offer_id":52125173711121,"sku":"NLS9783319445366","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0784\/4072\/6801\/files\/9783319445366.jpg?v=1757462907"},{"product_id":"meccanica-quantistica-book-leonardo-angelini-9788847039650","title":"Meccanica Quantistica","description":"In questa seconda edizione la scelta dei problemi presentati è stata ampliata con alcuni nuovi esercizi come i potenziali quadrati. An attempt has been made to anticipate the conceptual problems students encounter when they first study quantum mechanics. Wherever possible, examples are given to illustrate the underlying physics associated with the mathematical equations of quantum mechanics. To this end, connections are made with corresponding phenomena in classical mechanics and electromagnetism. The problems at the end of each chapter are intended to help students master the course material and to explore more advanced topics. Many calculations exploit the extraordinary capabilities of computer programs such as Mathematica, MatLab, and Maple. Students are urged to use these programs, just as they had been urged to use calculators in the past.
