This is the book for those who want to recreate the food they have eaten on their travels, but find most recipes offputtingly complicated and the ready-made meals in the supermarkets bland and dull in comparison. Despite the prevalence of ethnic recipes, none contains any ingredient that is not stocked by the majority of supermarkets and greengrocers. Almost all the recipes are suited to those who have time only to buy one or two ingredients on the way home, with much of the rest being in the average kitchen storecupboard.
