Afternoon Tea with May Morris by Michele Hill
Following the successful "William Morris in Applique" and "More William Morris in Applique" books comes this new book from Michele Hill. This is a smaller book in a reduced format with achievable projects for all skill levels. There are eight quilting projects in total including an apron, cushion, quilts and accessories all inspired by drawings from May Morris - William's eldest daughter. There is also a section devoted to the history and life of May Morris who was as talented as her father. All projects have photographic step-by-step instructions and reflect the theme of Afternoon Tea with accompanying recipes in each chapter. There are also 3 A3 size pull out pattern sheets included. From preparation to consumption - enjoy stitching and baking your own May Morris adaptations!
Michele Hill is based in Adelaide and is one of Australia's leading quilt designers. Her love of everything William Morris was sparked after a visit to the V&A and after retiring from nursing after 35 years she took up a new career, that of keeping the 'genius of Morris alive'. She has since published two books on William Morris applique, has four ranges of fabrics and more recently sold out her William Morris tours in the UK. In 2014 she received the highest accolade an Australian quilter can receive - The Rajah Award in recognition of her services to Australia through quilting.
