She's also especially partial to small towns, wherever they may be. With her Chesapeake Shores series, Woods has created a fictional setting on the banks of the Chesapeake Bay, an area not that far from her Virginia home and yet another area dear to her heart. One of her cousins, in fact, was one of the original authors of the Chesapeake Bay Act, designed to preserve this vast estuary. Sherryl is a member of Novelists Inc. and Sisters in Crime. She divides her time between her childhood summer home overlooking the Potomac River in Colonial Beach, Virginia, and her oceanfront home with its lighthouse view in Key Biscayne, Florida.
