Bird and Frog find a strawberry on their way. There’s only one strawberry and the two of them. So, only “the best” animal gets to eat the fruit. Soon Rat, Shrew, Squirrel, and others join them in a competition to find “the best” and award them with the strawberry. The animals have fun playing together. But, as they reach the finish line, it’s time to see who gets the reward. The animals find there is a lesson for all of them about being “best friends”. Best Test is the second title after Fair Shares by the duo, Pippa Goodhart and Anna Doherty.
Pippa Goodhart is a prize-winning children's writer and teacher with a passion for creating quality books for children and connecting children with books. She has written over a hundred children's books, including the award-winning picture book You Choose, and the Winnie the Witch series which she writes under the pen name of Laura owen. She trained as a teacher, and worked for many years in bookselling before becoming a mother and a writer.
Pippa collaborated with illustrator Anna Doherty for her book Fair Shares (2019, Tiny Owl). Best Test is her second book with Anna with a similar style of writing and illustration.
