Nina Riggs earned her MA in poetry in 2004 and published Lucky, Lucky, a collection of poems in 2009. Her blog, Suspicious Country, chronicled her life with metastatic breast cancer, and her recent writing has featured in The Washington Post and The New York Times. She lived in Greensboro, North Carolina, with her husband, sons, and pets. The Brilliant Hour is her first book.
