Linda Mowat graduated in 1981 from the Institute of Archaeology in London and proceeded to the University of Leicester, where she obtained the Graduate Certificate in Museum studies. Her archaeological fieldwork included three seasons in Colombia and while there she was able to visit Indian groups in the tropical forests as well as in the Andes. Since 1984 she has worked as Research Assistant at the Pitt Rivers Museum, Oxford.
