Chile Handbook by Toby Green

This revised and updated edition offers comprehensive recommendations and listings. Chile has lakes, forests, volcanoes, Mediterranean style countryside, vineyards, orchards, lively cities, peaceful beaches and deserts. This handbook includes coverage of the Chilean Pacific Islands including Easter Island and offers practical listings of all accommodation, restaurants, and everything else the visitor needs, whether travelling in a group or independently. A special feature on adventure sports from climbing volcanoes in the Lake District to mountain biking in the Parque Nacional Huerquehue, even sea kayaking and rafting is also included.
Toby Green first went to Chile as an English teacher in 1992, when he spent a year working in Santiago, and travelled the country from Arica to Tierra del Fuego. He has been back several times since, whilst developing a career as a writer and editor. He has written for many of the UK national newspapers, and is the author of two works of narrative travel, Saddled with Darwin which was nominated for 2 literary prizes and translated into 5 languages, and Meeting the Invisible Man. He lives in Gloucestershire, trying his best to resist learning to drive.
