Daddy's Little Girl was written by Bobby Burke and Horace Gerlach in 1949. It was an instant hit, and has gone on to become a staple of wedding reception playlists for the dance shared by a bride and her father. This and a companion song, Daddy's Little Boy, written by Billy Collins in 1950, have been recorded by many artists, notably by the Mills Brothers, and are considered American standards.
