Dandelion Seed by Joseph Anthony

Like a dandelion seed adrift on the wayward winds, Marcelle de la Strange is an innocent in the decadent and dangerous London of James I.

When her mother's violent death leaves Marcelle at the mercy of her lecherous stepfather, she can't help but be drawn to the dashing Thomas Mayhew, King's Messenger and attendant to the flamboyant court favourite Robert Carr, who offers her protection, freedom . . . and love.

But such perfect happiness is brittle, vulnerable. A mysterious royal lover, tawny-haired and passionate, leaves Marcelle with child. Kidnapped by the powerful Howard family, the baby is an innocent pawn in a deadly political game and Marcelle's desperate search for her son threatens her reconciliation with Thomas, her health, and even her very sanity . . .

Joseph Anthony is a twenty-six-year-old writer from New Jersey. He attended Rutgers University and his writing has been featured in Lavender Review, Scarlet Leaf Review, Samsara, Danse Macabre, The Corner Club Press, HEArt, Eleventh Transmission, and Five 2 One, among others. His poem Republicans and Democrats was a winner of the Yellow Chair Review's Rock the Chair Challenge. Anthony is the author of three other books, An Uneaten Breakfast: Collected Stories and Poems; The Alphabet of Dating, a novel; and Some College Somewhere, stories chronicling the life of a self-destructive college student. He also runs the popular Instagram page @gaypoetry. If you enjoyed the book, or would like to contact Joseph Anthony, reach out to him by direct messaging his Instagram.
