"Taking its cue from an essay of George Steiner's which celebrated the utter relevance of 'Dante Now' some twenty years ago, the present volume characterizes very successfully the variety of contemporary responses to the poet and, in particular, to the teaching of the American Dantist Charles Singleton and of his first students" —International Journal of the Classical Tradition

". . . much to recommend . . . for student and medievalist alike. . ." —The Bulletin of International Medieval Research

"[T]his is a worthwhile and . . . very readable collection, which demonstrates the continuing vitality of Anglo-American Dante studies." —Italian Studies
