Matt Cardin is a North Texas-based writer, editor, musician, college professor, and administrator. With a Ph.D., you can do anything. He has a master's degree in religious studies and focuses on the nexus of religion, horror, art, and creativity on a regular basis. Horror Literature: An Encyclopedia of the Tales That Speak to Our Deepest Fears (2017), Ghosts, Spirits, and Psychics: The Paranormal from Alchemy to Zombies (2015), and Mummies Around the World: An Encyclopedia of Mummies in Religion, History, and Popular Culture (2014) are among his editing work. He was nominated for a World Fantasy Award for editing Born to Fear: Conversations with Thomas Ligotti in 2015. He is also a co-editor of Vastarien, a literary horror journal.
