He is the author of numerous books, including Direct Democracy: The Politics of Initiative, Referendum and Recall, Rethinking the Presidency; The State of the Presidency, and is co-author of Government by the People. Robert D. Loevy is director of the Center for Practical Politics and a professor of political science at The Colorado College. He is the author of The Flawed Path to the Presidency and To End All Segregation: The Politics of the Passage of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, as well as co-author of American Government: We Are One.
