Elementary Children's Literature by Nancy L Anderson
Elementary Children's Literature,4e by Nancy A. Anderson, gives pre-service teachers of elementary, early childhood, and special education students-plus media specialists and parents of children aged infancy through 13-a comprehensive look at children's literature in general plus information about hundreds of today's best books in children's literature. Organized around genres; written in a conversational tone; and packed with teaching strategies, technology applications, authoritative coverage of multicultural literature, and many instructional tie-ins, the book helps teachers and parents apply their knowledge of literature to help children grow in their language and reading abilities.Nancy A. Anderson received her master's and doctoral degrees from the University of Southern Mississippi, home of the extensive de Grummond collection of children's books. It was there she fell in love with children's literature. Her degrees were in curriculum and instruction with an emphasis in reading and a cognate in children's literature. She spent more than 26 years as a university professor, teaching courses in children's literature and reading. In addition to publishing numerous articles in scholarly journals, she is author of What Should I Read Aloud? A guide to 200 best-selling picture books (International Reading Association, 2007). She is now a full time author.
