The Big House is a new historical fiction series set in a small Victorian town and based around the staff and the family of the manor house. Each story explores a different aspect of Victorian life in a fun and informative way providing accurate historical information. In A FIRE IN THE VILLAGE, two of the maids from the Big House are sent to stay with one of the villagers whilst repairs are being made to Dalcombe Manor.
