French Verbs by William Rowlinson
The directory of over 4,000 verbs at the start of this book lists all common regular and irregular verbs in modern usage. There is information on the prepositions (if any) the verbs take, whether their compound tenses require "avoir" or "etre", and which model verb they follow. The 77 model verbs used here are conjugated in full in all active tenses, with notes on minor deviations. A comprehensive additional section on verb formation includes full details of participle agreements and the passive. The book should be of interest to students and teachers of French at all levels from first examinations to university, as well as adult learners.Now retired, William Rowlinson was Senior Lecturer in Modern Languages at the University of Sheffield.
