Mackenzi Lee graduated from Simmons College with a degree in history and an MFA in writing for children and young adults. She is the author of the New York Times bestselling historical fantasy books This Monstrous Thing and The Gentleman's Guide to Vice and Virtue, as well as The Lady's Guide to Petticoats and Piracy (2018) and Semper Augustus (2019).
