In this book he looks at how to overcome the initial withdrawal symptoms of dieting - and how to cheat; what to look for and what to avoid when shopping; and basic changes in eating habits, with tips on what to do about between-meal cravings. Included in the book are 56 recipes for starters, snacks, main courses, light courses and desserts, with no hard-and-fast menus to follow, so you can choose any meal. There are guidelines on making the best slimmer's choice when eating out, and general rules for entertaining, with menus for 12 dinner parties. And there's a section on raiding the fridge, and other temptations like scraping out the bowl and eating the leftovers from children's meals.
John Tovey was matched with a guide dog called Dez after losing his sight at age 42. John and Dez are both active fundraisers for Guide Dogs and to date, have raised thousands for the charity.
