I Should Have Stayed Home by Horace Mccoy

Temptation and desire in Hollywood. Hard-boiled. Perverse Plot Summary: Ralph Carston, a handsome young man from Georgia, and roommate Mona Matthews work as extras and dream of Hollywood stardom when a courtroom fracas by Mona gives them a flash of notoriety. This leads to a swank Hollywood party and an introduction to Ethel Smithers, a rich older woman with a less than pure interest in Carston...

In the year 1897, Horace McCoy was born near Nashville, Tennessee. He worked as a salesman and a cab driver all over the United States, and his eclectic career encompassed reporting, sports editing, working as a politician's bodyguard, double for a wrestler, and writing for films and periodicals. I Should Have Stayed at Home (1938) and Kiss Tomorrow Goodbye (1948) are two of his writings. He founded the renowned Dallas Little Theatre. In 1955, he passed away.
