In the Dark by Simon Read
I have been writing songs for many years but in 1999, I started to write down these inspiring songs and poems based on my life experiences and inspiration from above and within. I observed a pattern to the poems and songs which were especially relevant as I understand that I was not alone. These songs and poems show a journey through the light into darkness and back to light and enlightenment. I delve into the deepest recesses of my heart to write truthfully about times of fears, worries and vulnerabilities as well as times of refreshing, joy and peace. There were times my mind sometimes could not take some of what it encountered both in reality and in dreams. These poems and songs are emphatically written to capture those moments. These songs and poems inspire the reader to understand the importance of never giving up in life.

Simon Read is the author of nine works of nonfiction published on both sides of the Atlantic. His writing has appeared in the San Francisco Chronicle, Publisher's Weekly, and Time. Three of his previous books, including Winston Churchill Reporting, have been optioned for movie and television adaptation.
