Dianne K.Salerni got a bachelor's degree in elementary teaching from the University of Delaware and a master's degree in language arts education from the University of Pennsylvania. She spent almost two decades as an elementary school teacher and has written several books, including We Hear the Dead and The Caged Graves. The second novel in the Eighth Day series is The Inquisitor's Mark. Although Dianne is aware that there is no such thing as a secret Eighth Day, she believes that discovering one would explain the disappearance of food in her home.
