Paul Tanner, geboren 1951, ist seit 1992 Leiter der Graphischen Sammlung der ETH Zurich. Nach seinem Studium der Kunstgeschichte, der Klassischen Archaologie und der Geschichte an der Universitat Basel war er 1980 bis 1982 wissenschaftlicher Assistent, von 1984 bis 1991 Konservator am Basler Kupferstichkabinett.
