Part ten of the "Know Your" series honours a species which has done so much to help humans over the course of our development, the donkey. Jack Byard's selection of breeds includes some of the most well known as well as some which are under threat. Jack gives fascinating information about each breed's history, appearance and personality as well as a photograph of the animal in all its glory.
Jack Byard was born in Bradford in Yorkshire where he has lived and worked all his life. He always had a deep affection for his rural heritage and so wrote his first book, Know Your Sheep, with a view to sharing with others the countryside that he loves.
