While walking his beautiful dog, an Akita named Zoie, he came upon an empty home with water seeping from the garage. The neighbors knew nothing. No one knew how to contact the homeowner. No one had a key. Mr. Mehling and the neighbors watched helplessly as water came from the garage. When someone finally broke a window on a door at the side of the garage, they gained access only to find a broken water softener line had flooded the 'sunken' living room. After filling up, it started draining to the garage where it slowly went down the driveway. There was at least $20,000 damage according to a friend who was involved with the cleanup.
