Dr Patrick M. Geoghegan is Senior Lecturer (Dean of Undergraduate Studies) at Trinity College Dublin. He teaches in the Department of History and is the presenter of the award-winning Talking History on Newstalk.  His previous books include King Dan: The Rise of Daniel O’Connell, 1775–1829 (2008), biographies of Robert Emmet (2002), and Lord Castlereagh (2002), and The Irish Act of Union (1999).
