David J Murphy has worked in IT since 1996 and has focused on development since 1998. He works for Canonical Ltd. as a Software Developer, and prior to this he was a Product Specialist with Computer Sciences Corporation. He is a strong advocate of free and open-source software, and has contributed to two Linux books. He has also written several articles for magazines and the Internet. He lives in Cumbria, UK with his wife, two children, a dog, and numerous cats. His personal website is schwuk.com.
