"Simmons' painterly illustrations strengthen the story with their bright, vibrant colours for the characters in contrast to more muted shades for the background" * Books for Keeps *
"The team of Miriam Moss and Jane Simmons create a second Matty and Millie story with Matty in a Mess when the neat and orderly one of the pair discovers the fun of an occasional relaxation of standards." * The School Librarian *

Jane Simmons is the author and illustrator of the Daisy and Eb and Flo books, among many other titles. Together with her husband and dog, she leads a peripatetic existence, sailing around the world in an old fishing boat.

Miriam Moss grew up in Africa, China and the Middle East, but was born in England. She is the award-winning author of over seventy children's books. She now lives in East Sussex with her husband, children, cats and a dog.
