David Cronenberg is a filmmaker from Canada who has worked for more than four decades. Cronenberg was born in Toronto, Canada, and was honoured into the Canadian Walk of Fame in 1999. He was named an Officer of the Order of Canada in 2002, and the Carrosse d'Or, the Cannes Film Festival's lifetime achievement award, in 2006. He is also a member of France's Order of Arts and Letters (1990), and a Chevalier of the Legion of Honor (2009). Stereo, Crimes of the Future, The Dead Zone, The Fly, Naked Lunch, and M. are among Cronenberg's many feature films. Butterfly, Crash, A History of Violence, A Dangerous Method, and Cosmopolis (based on Don DeLillo's novel of the same name).
