The New IBS Low-starch Diet by Carol Sinclair

As many as one in five people in the UK may suffer from Irritable Bowel Syndrome at some time in their lives, but they may be unaware that the simple elimination of starch from their diet could bring dramatic relief from pain and discomfort. In this newly revised edition, Carol Sinclair, a sufferer who has successfully overcome IBS pain, brings you a revolutionary programme for a pain-free future. Identify your symptoms; Be aware of foods which contain starch; Create a new and exciting range of starch-free menus; Chapters on starch digestion; From chocolate raisin bars and spinach and bacon salad with blue cheese dressing to pork fillet with orange and almond and apricot meringue torte, there are delicious meals for every occasion.
Carol Sinclair came to live in Britain in 1979 from her native New Zealand, where she had worked in advertising for many years and wrote a cookery column. During her long search for the causes and possible cure of IBS, she has read many books on the subject of digestion and nutrition, but she believes nothing compensates for an intimate acquaintance with the symptoms. She lives in Bradford-on-Avon, Wiltshire, writes for magazines and is the author of a book on her husband, the painter Ray Harris-Ching.
