One D.O.a One on the Way by Mary Robison

Inspired by a true story, 'The Yellow Dress' tells the tale of a magical yellow dress that transcends generations, spreading love, joy, and a little magic along the way.

Our mom, Jackie, sewed the yellow dress when she was 16 years old. The yellow dress lived with our family on Vancouver Island for many years, initially in mom's closet and later in the dress-up box. After moving out of our childhood home, mom donated the yellow dress to Goodwill. Two years later, a ferry ride and many kilometers away, she stumbled upon her yellow dress for sale in a vintage store in Sechelt. She sent us a photo, and we insisted she buy the dress and bring it home. Just months later, our beautiful niece, Georgia, was born.

Within hours of her birth, Georgia started having seizures. She had suffered a stroke which resulted in a significant brain injury.

The birth of Georgia inspired us to write 'The Yellow Dress', and the magic of the yellow dress represents the love, positivity, and sparkle mom radiates wherever she goes. All proceeds from this book will be donated to support Georgia, and to help other children and families in need.
