PLAY IT AGAIN, SLAM by Robert King
This is a follow-up to the authors' previous books of parodies and pastiches. It contains three novellas and bridge hands with an equal amount of instruction and entertainment.Robert King, MD, has spent more than two decades working with interdisciplinary teams to support people with intellectual impairments, Autism Spectrum Disorders, and mental health issues, primarily in rural and neglected areas of Ontario. Dr. King received his medical degree from the University of Toronto Medical School with honors in 1989. He earned his Family Medicine certification at Queen's University (Kingston, Ontario), worked as a Family Physician in northern Ontario, and then went to the University of Western Ontario (London, Ontario) in 1993 to complete his Psychiatry studies. Since then, he has mostly worked in Ontario's rural underprivileged communities, contributing in the creation of new program designs from a biopsychosocial standpoint. He highlights the importance of operationalizing indications and symptoms of mental health issues, as well as objective monitoring mechanisms to assess quality of life improvements in response to treatment suggestions. He presently serves as a consultant to the only Assertive Community Treatment Team in Canada dedicated to individuals with dual diagnoses (ACT-DD, Brockville Mental Health Centre), as well as Paths to Independence (Brockville, Ontario), Kerry's Place Autism Program (Aurora, Ontario), and Community Living organizations in northwest Ontario.
