The last sermon preached by Christ before His ascension was on the Holy Ghost He said, . wait for the promise of the Father . ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence. Acts 1:4-5. (See also Acts 1:8-9) Luke records the last words of Christ as, Behold I send the promise of my Father upon you; but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem until ye be endued with power from on high. Luke 24:49. This message must have been of utmost importance, or Christ would never have reserved it until just before He ascended. Asa A. Allen was a controversial evangelist with a Pentecostal healing and deliverance ministry. He was associated with the Voice of Healing movement founded by Gordon Lindsay.
