'Satisfyingly twisty' and 'thought-provoking'..'Winslow has a talent for developing the distinctive voices of her characters'The Bookbag '[The Red House] is a triumph, confirmation that Emily is here to stay. I love the way she handles to perfection the multiple-protagonist viewpoints - you are never confused - and the story fairly belts along at a reasonable pace. DI Chloe Frohmann is on top form, and never far from the truth. Time these excellent stories were snapped up by a TV company' Books Monthly 'Emily Winslow's latest novel The Red House is psychological crime writing at its best. Compelling from page one, with hugely sympathetic characters, it weaves a complex tale of past and present mysteries, which left me guessing right to the end. Winslow's atmospheric and lyrical writing style added to my enjoyment of this first-class mystery' KATE RHODES 'Familial mysteries offer dizzying layers ... logic and vulnerabilities of the participants are steadily revealed, as Winslow wrings every last satisfying twist from her characters' The American 'The Red House has much to commend it. As a novel of psychological suspense it certainly delivers' Shots Blog
Emily Winslow is an American living in Cambridge, and her books are set here and surrounding areas. She trained as an actress at Carnegie Mellon's elite drama conservatory, which inspired her use of multiple first-person narrators, and her years designing puzzles for magazines inform her playful, complex plot structures.
