Roanoke by Pete Eshelman

The evolution of Roanoke, located in northeast Indiana, is typical of many American small towns. For over a century, Roanoke grew and prospered, but by the 1980's, its painful decline was evident. The triumph of Roanoke's renewal stands as an example to communities striving to revitalize and reinvent their town and their way of life. The true story of one small town's restoration, Roanoke is a modern-day "It's a Wonderful Life."

Scott M. Bushnell began his career as a sports writer in his hometown of Poughkeepsie, New York. He has served as a reporter, sports writer, and news editor in the Connecticut bureau of the Associated Press and directed media relations for Travelers and Lincoln National Corporation. Bushnell is co-author (with Pete Eshelman) of Roanoke: The Renaissance of a Hoosier Village. He lives in Saint Joe, Indiana.
