Schaum's Outline of UML by Simon Bennett

This carefully structured tutorial guide explains step by step the notation and use of UML. It shows through practical examples how to use the techniques and notation of UML. Many readers find it difficult to understand the practical details of an analysis and design approach from a theoretical textbook. Schaums shows the reader whether a student or a professional how UML is used in practice. The book is based on two systems analysis case studies which are set out in detail using the UML notation. One of the case studies is developed as an example the other is used to provide exercises for the reader. Problems in the second case are solved and explained.
