Pritchett, Elizabeth Bowen, and Frank O' Connor, as well as biographers Claire Tomalin and Vincent O'Sullivan, among others A Selected Bibliography is also included.

Coppard was born in 1878 in Kent, England. He became well-known for his short stories set in rural England, which had supernatural horror and allegorical fantasy aspects. There were also other volumes of his poetry published, as well as the first volume of his autobiography, It's Me, O Lord! In 1957, he died in London.
